Ok just an update if helpfull to anyone, as you guys are so good at responding, done 3 sessions 2-3 hours between 3-8 different times each session , each over stubble birds in vicinity but not where I set up. But due to roads etc and following safe run off areas, can't always set up where the birds are. 36 birds in total, 16 my best which was tonight, got most action over two random patterns with a gap in the middle started at 20 yards but slowly increased , and real birds in the pattern made a massive difference to getting birds to commit, reckon if I could hit a barn door, and resisted trying to shoot pigeons outside my ability probably could have had triple the number easily , lots of rookie mistakes but I'm learning slowly. Got some spring sticks for the neoprene shells got to say think there brilliant, work really well with a bit of wind proper life like nice bit of cheap movement in the pattern. In regards to hide I set up under a tree used two nets one lower so extra cover to waste height and found if you put straw between the nets blends in great. Had two doubles which was great and furthest paced to 45 yards, think that was a fluke though, as rarely hit anything further than 35 yards. Question to you guys I got a lot of high birds flying over the pattern, that I tried to shoot missed everyone one, before I worked out to only shoot lower birds that were interested in pattern. Is that the best approach? Thanks, this is addictive!

Going tomorrow 6 pm till dark my first time over stubble, taking 20 decoys with me, hopefully bring some in, any particular patterns work best over stubble or is it just the same approach, I.e horseshoe etc, any tips welcome. Sorry for the hijack

Same here had about 8 all afternoon , to be honest a lot more flew over but too busy gassing, then as soon as we got out of the hide 3 woodies perfect distance straight over the decoys as we were laughing, turned round and at least 200 crows coming right for our pattern. Laughing turned into tears pretty quickly...........t

The fitting are called storm pole attachments, they screw into long bank sticks or 'storm poles' to lock the brolly down and make it stable in strong winds, hence the name.

Been looking for left handed semi auto and my gun of choice is a berreta and recently just noticed these ehave popped up in l/h actions, just wondered if anyone has any comments on the a400 explor generally? Before I part with my hard earned cash. Also can't work out if there's two versions or if the shops haven't worked it out yet, as told there wood stocks but read these are plastic that look like wood, having played with one in the shop felt like plastic to me, yet informed was definitely wood😉😏 and seen adverts with walnut stated as stock! Do you guys always put a sort of 1/2 roof on the hide, or just leave the top open, been building a hide for two of us to sit in and starting thinking really we need a bit of roof camo to cover the back of the hide, don't know if I'm been paranoid

Farmer has told be not taking any more sprouts of his field and says there loads of pigeons on them at the moment. Not something I've ever decoyed over and wondered if generally any good or if anyone has any tips, just going to do a few hours tomorrow over it with the usual hide and a dozen decoys.
