  2. Hi all, I have been using foam ear plugs and also the rubber ones with the little valve in them- niether have worked- my ears have been ringing like hell for days after, so was thinking of getting some electronic or other types if anyone knows of any decent types/models? looking at spending £20-£40 and dont want anything too bulky as i do lot of walking while shooting! many thanks in advance!!!
  3. Hi all, I got my SGC a month ago and bought a o/u 12g from a local gunsmiths, it hasnt got a make on it but several other gunsmiths I know have said it looks like an early bettonsoli? if thats how u spell it! anyways it shoots perfect and the bores are sound. the general condition of gun is very good, there is just one problem, when it has no cartridges in it the action closes perfectly, but when it has cartridges in it it is very stiff to close, more so with some cartridges than others! some times it closes first time and at others it really takes a bit of force a few times to close, it either needs a good clean or something little that needs sorting, as it was fine when i first bought it! i payed £90 for it but am asking for £50, f2f so buyer can look and see the gun. im in Loughborough Thanks guys steve P.s no photos as my mrs has lost my camera charger
  4. Sold to sharpshooter pending usual

  7. Hi all, I have a 4 year old black lab, who we took to obediance classes as a puppy, he does all the commands such as sit, lay , rollover. He is very pully and doesnt walk to heal very well. I just wondered if it would be worth taking him to gundog classes or have I left it too late?? Many thanks Steve
  8. Hi mate, if you are deadbaiting for them only use tiny bait eg. a roach or sprat head, they tend not to go near big deadbaits. instead of using trebles use a size 1 or 2 single hook, and just leger a running rig. best time is night for zander as thats when they feed mostly but like any fish u can catch them anytime of the day! good luck! let us know how u get on!
  9. Hi all, wanting to go foxing tonight at dusk but its raining here and shows no sighns of stopping-am i wasting my time or will they still be around?

  12. There are couple of old pig brick built pig sheds but the foxes never seem to pass that end of the field?
  13. Hi all, after rabbiting on a farm for a few years, the farmer has always wanted the foxes getting rid of! due to them killing 3 lambs last year and 2 this year! I have only recently got my SGC so now the time has come, The land consists of 6-7 fields totalling 60 acres, all of which are totally flat with no cover as all hedgrows are barbwired off, in 4 of the fields there are cattle and sheep, but in the two where the foxes are most regularly seen there is nothing, I got within 30 yards of a cub tonight but didnt shoot due to not being able to hold lamp/gun at same time-, now I could do with some tips- these foxes dont seem to respond too well to being squeaked, they seem to be very cautious, I have bought a jitter critter but they didnt come to close at all. what should I do? FAC is a no no here, so if you guys have got any tips regarding ways to get them close enough and where to position myself bearing in mind no cover? Id be extremely grateful ( im using an o/u 36g 3's, 12 gauge,) Many thanks Steve
