I always get my rifles crowned from new ( after running in ) profesionally on a lathe by a gunsmith... and yes it can make a good rifle better..

Tthe farm i shoot on the poachers shoot fox and badger leaving them where they fall, police dont whant to know. God nows if the deer are taken...

Once youve unscrewed the cover on the front lens, mine (its a hawke though) can be turned by hand its tight but hold the rings in a cloth to stop the cutting you, It may not need much of a turn. good luck.
