  1. Cheers, will give them a shout Time to start saving then
  2. LOL @ the woman randomly shooting a coke bottle, mid-test.
  3. Is there anyone in N.Ireland who can service a pcp airgun? I have an Air Arms S200, would like to make sure the seals are ok and it is making full power, would also be interested in increasing power if possible as I hold it on a FAC so may as well push it out if it can be increased. But don't want to send it to mainland UK as not worth the hassle - anyone this side of the pond who can help? Rob
  4. No I haven't heard of him before? Anyway, tbh I don't know whether it is wrong or right. The exact wording of the law, is that "both calibre and type must be identical". My FAC shows Calibre as .22, and type as Rifle. So there is no change there? I am sure when the paperwork is sent off it will soon be returned if there is a problem.
  5. Just an update - I did a one on one off today between semi auto and bolt. Cops said calibre and type must be identical.. well my licence shows "calibre .22" and "type rifle" no mention of semi or bolt, happy days! Proud new owner of a CZ 455 thumbhole!
  6. Straightbarrel - I have shot duck once in my life and I really only take the odd go at a pigeon or two here and there, don't get me wrong I would love to train the Lab to retrieve but I don't know if it would be possible given the small number of times I get out in a year? The sole reason for getting these pups is for companionship, I'm not out to show or breed them. I have spoken to a couple of breeders who filled me full of horror stories about buying out of the local rag, so thought I would just ask for a more impartial opinion on here as to puppy acquisition
  7. When picking a puppy, is there anything wrong with buying one out of the local paper which has been reared by a family, as opposed to paying top dollar and buying one off a top breeder? I know a lot of dodgy puppy farms advertise in papers, but there are also a lot of genuine people who have litters in their own home and charge a lot less money than buying off a top show dog breeder. I am on the market for a chocolate lab and a basset hound, both are to be pets living with me and my girlfriend. Can anyone give me some advice here? I don't want to end up buying trouble but I also don't want to pay top dollar for a family pet which won't be shown in the ring or bred from. Rob
  8. It is both calibre and type which must be "identical". Annoying, as I am changing my .22LR Semi Auto for a .22LR Bolt Action. Just called Lisnasharragh and they said because the action is not identical, it will need a full variation. Dammit!!
  9. Both me and my dad have Balmoral Neos and they are a great welly. Paid about £80 new tho
  10. If the dive bottle is filled to 230 bar, how many times can this be used to charge the air rifle? I am a qualified scuba diver myself and as soon as we start breathing the air out of a tank the pressure drops like a stone.. Surely one or two fills would take the bottle below 200 bar and then it is below what you need to charge the rifle again?
  11. Some interesting responses here. I went to my dealer yesterday and after handling both the S200 and the S410 I honestly preferred the S200 so that's what I have now bought. It's .177, with built in moderator, Hawke 3-9x40 Hawke scope and a 10 shot mag. Very nice condition and got him down to £325 which I am happy with. Interestingly the dealer said it is an FAC version but at the same time I don't know how much I have faith in that, as he didn't know the power and did say he didn't know how to modify the power on an S200. It will be a few weeks until my FAC comes through with the variation (PSNI seem to have speeded things up lately) so until then I can only guess. Even if it is only 12lbft, so long as it stops the bunnies as well as others have said it should, I'll be a happy man!
  12. A friend of mine has a dive bottle, so filling isn't a problem. The shop also has an S410 similar spec in .22 for £450, I could spend the extra money if it was worth it but as I'm pretty clueless I am hoping to get some advice to help with my purchase.
  13. Hi folks I am on the Market for my first airgun and have found one at my local shop. It is an Air Arms S200 .177 with 10 shot mag, Hawke scope and built in moderator, it is an FAC model but I am not exactly sure what power it is. Price is £350. Can you tell me whether this would be suitable for rabbits at 40 yards and whether the .177 is much of a disadvantage vs a .22? I already have a .22LR so I am already covered for longer shots if I need more fire power. Also is £350 a reasonable price, and what other questions should I be asking when I go for a look? Thanks Rob
  14. Should have said - after multi shot too.
  15. Hi guys I am after a pcp air rifle with scope and silencer. Something like an Air Arms s200. I have FAC so can accept both tuned and non-FAC versions. Drop me a pm Thanks
