  1. interesting comments. I'm in the market for a 20 bore, and i cant hold a 12 bore, they're just too heavy for me, although I shoot with a 12 at the moment. I had in mind that i wanted a miroku, and then reading this thread i wondered if a bettinsoli would be better. Do you think that a miroku would be better for walked up shoots. I'm not very well built and have no muscles . I often do clays aswell in the summer to get my eye in and practice for the season. Answers on a postcard?
  2. still For Sale. Good for the forthcoming shoot season. No more wet dog smell in your car in the Winter!
  3. not with the amount of jam sugar you put in it! Yum yum!
  4. I know you havent said it, and not to state the obvious, but dont wear jeans, even if they're under your over trousers. You'll get too cold and they look too casual. The amount of beaters (kids & adults) I've seen rock up to a shoot with jeans, and then come back to lunch frozen. Also thick socks under your wellies to keep your feet warm. You want to feel your toes at the end of the day!
  5. a place near me is selling a Shogun with the stickers on it they also have a promo car with the Real tree stickers all over it. Not sure if its the same one as yours? I've seen it at the Game fairs aswell. http://www.firs-garage.com/event19-L200-RealTree.htm
  6. I've already posted twice on here, so better introduce myself! I'm from windy Oxfordshire, and train & work my Springer Spaniels both Beating, Picking up & Trialling. I also do a lot (when I get time) for a voluntary charity group, and I usually do the Race for life, Breast Cancer Research & Sports Relief runs, which keeps me fit. I've also just started feeding my dogs onto a BARF (Bones & Raw Food) diet, which is really interesting, and a huge learning curve. I do a bit of pigeon, rabbit & clay pigeon shooting, but I miss more than I shoot & I get disgruntled looks from my dog! Look forward to learning more from you all.
  7. apart from Sloe Gin, you can always do Sloe Whisky, Sloe Vodka (i'm thinking about doing a blackberry & Sloe Vodka), Sloe Jam and I think if you look on the BBC Website, you can do Duck or Pheasant and Sloes and I gotta feeling that you can use the spent Sloes with some melted chocolate and make them into sloe chocolates. Good Luck. If you need a Guinea Pig for any of your recipes, give me a shout!
