  1. With me being a total new comer to the world of running dogs and after having working terriers( totally different kettle of fish I Might add) for over 20 years I was given countless advice on lurchers from kelpie types through to Bull crosses, to first cross whippet greyhounds but after seeing a collie cross work alongside a ferret and on the lamp I made my mind up that to get near to what I wanted this would be the lurcher for me. Some swear by them and some are against them but it would be a sad world if we were all the same.

  2. I had the same dilema, Wanting a lurcher for the first time to work alongside my terriers and ferrets, I went for a 3/4 greyhound 1/8th Beardie 1/8 Border collie bitch, Great little pup, training is coming along a treat, great with kids, my terriers etc. Each to their own, and I am sure with a little patience she will work out fine for me,

  3. You dont have to tell me about tackle catching the fisherman pavman , been doin it for too long now to be caught up in all that hype! Used to get well and truly caught in my youth though , always buying the new stuff that came out etc,

I still have and use my old abu 7000 reel, It must be 18 years old now and works and looks like new!

  5. He Is a typical dog Terrier mate! You must show him who is Boss. A good clip and a scolding would work ,But not too hard, If you allow them to get away with it it will get worse, He is still young so it shouldnt be a problem, Maybe rough playing with him is making him slightly aggressive? I would back off from the aggressive play. Can be a hard nut to crack can a terrier....You are the boss remember not him..

  6. I feed mine on a rabbit(gutted) that will last three of them roughly a day or so. Also it wont do them any harm to keep on with the dried food every now and then. A pheasant will last a couple of days as will hare etc. I fed mine on what I catch or shoot and also fresh road kills. Magpies etc they will eat the lot.

  7. My Missus thinks it is a bit steep! £850 for seven days but that includes flights, transport to destination, log cabin, Boat hire, Boat comes with the lot, Fish finder, Gps etc. You bring your own gear though. They have said you throw 20 pounders back all the time with 30-40 pounders being the norm. I will have to wait and see, We need 8 people for the trip and up to now have 6 responded to it. I can,t wait.

  8. Back to it now, after a lay off with dogs dogs being lame, Caught eleven on Sunday night, Could have had a lot more. Rats everywhere, Great sport. On the down-side two airgunners dressed and moving about like the SAS turned up, Left dead rats hanging about and stole on of my Live rat traps. A word with the farmer soon sorted it... :<
