  1. Barbury shooting school in swindon, lovely ground, really friendly owners. Pumps and semis welcome as long as they are carried in a gun slip between stands.
  2. perhaps there should be a list of Pump and auto friendly grounds and the others named and shamed......
  3. I have written a complaint letter to the ground, will be interesting to see if they reply. They sell Autos and pumps at their Gun shop too, so need to embrace them. I will stick to Barbury shooting school in the future, far nicer sorts there
  4. that happened to me a couple of times, the first time i took the barel off and managed to get the cartridge out, the second time i banged the recoil pad on the floor and the cart flew out the side. i am hopeing its just happenin because its new?
  5. Took the winchester to a certain shooting school near cheltenham yesterday. Was having a lovely round, when one of the ground staff stopped behind me and watched me shoot, i said hello, he said " how many cartridges have you got in that gun sir?" I replied two, he said " are you sure?" I said yes, he replied you haven't got three have you?" I then said would you like to check? He then walked off!! The arrogance of the fool. firstly, accept an answer from a customer who is paying over the odds for a round of clays, secondly i have spent over £5k in their gun shop in the last two years and don't think that everyone that shoots with anything less than a hand made Browning is a liar and cannot follow clay ground rules... To be fair, as great as the ground is, the attitude of the staff is awful and i wont be going back again. Anyone else met with such treatment when using a pump?
  6. i just bought one too, tried it out on clays and got my best score all year !!!!! not sure how that happened !!! Struggled a few times loading, cartridges seemed to stick and i didnt push forward enough one or twice, so the cartrige wasnt loaded in the action properly, but i am sure it will loosen up.
  7. BSA XL tactical is a great value for money springer, lots of power and a great all weather package.
  8. My regular shooting buddy has given up the sport, so am looking for someone to meet up with every other Sunday. I an a member of Barbury and tend to go at around 9am so it doesn't upset the wife too much!! If you need someone to pair up with for a round of sporting, let me know. Thanks
  9. its works brilliantly, cycles cartridges at some crazy speeds. Put 50 kent velocity 70mm through and it was faultless, will take it to shoot some clays with it to see where the point of aim is next.
  10. I have been given the replacement Maxus, so am going to try it out this morning over the fields. 70mm size 6 30g carts, so lets see how this one goes. thanks for all your comments on this one.
  11. its gets better, or worse. my gun has been damaged in transit from the repair shop. they are now sending me a new one from the factory !!! i have been told that it will not work on anything below 70mm so as long as i know, its alright. hopefully getting it this week
  12. its a brilliant vehicle, i have had the 2.7 and the later 3.0 in swb and lwb, loved them and was gutted that they stopped making them. running costs are good, the swindon Nissan dealer will service them from £110, speedo heads go and most mileages are wrong, but i dont suppose that has happened with yours as the miles look realistic. check dealer prices against ebay, as the genuine parts are easier to fit and have proper warranties on. the best one i had was a 2.7 swb van, absolutely loved it and wished i still had it...
  13. its official, the gun was faulty. after the dealer telling me that he put 100 carts through without fail!!!, he left it with browning to free up the piston a bit, went to collect yesterday and they told me that browning are replacing it as there was a problem with the carrier, so it wasnt me doing something wrong, it was the gun.
  14. to be honest, i didnt do anything to it at all, the chap in the shop said it was ready to go. but i see your point, thank you for that.
  15. I was surprised, as i have spent over £5000 with this particular shop and thought, they could have offered the replacement cartridges as a gesture of goodwill. Still, once fixed, i will take my business elsewhere. tried 70mm and there was no difference. i did have a beretta, never had any issue with it in over a year, wish i had kept it now....
  16. hi there, picked up a brand new maxus 3 1/2 chamber yesterday. it jammed every shot, tried 30g,28g carts in a variety of makes, but no good. took it back to the shop and was told that there was nothing wrong to look at and they are sending it back to browning. no offer of replacing the carts i used when asked, or the cost of the clays. shot 100 carts and had to manually eject every one. anyone else had a problem with them? was so disapointed with the gun and the dealer.
  17. thanks for the advice, just had a drive in one, (the non van version) and it was excellent. it has a new engine from the ones that they had in the early days, the new one is more powerful and smoother. its now 190bhp. I was very impressed and the delership in swindon, Fish Brothers Nissan, are getting a demo van in for me to try. i couldnt believe the service either, actually offering to get the exact truck in that i wanted to test, it will take a few weeks to arrive as its getting converted. so fingers crossed if the van is as good as the car, i will get one on order.
  18. Hello, i am looking for a 4x4, to tow and to take dogs in the back. I have looked at the Navara and it will do the job well, but am not sure about the security of keeping tools and stuff in the back with a hard top on. They seem to be either fibre glass or the aluminium roller shutter type. I have seen that they make the Nissan Pathfinder into a van too, with 5 seats and ametal grid bulkhead. Has anyone seen one or has one that they could recomend. It is still classed as a van even though it has 5 seats as they deacivate the rear windows. thanks

    hw100tk.22

its a great rifle, just get one ordered. i have a .22 Tk and its brilliant. shot count is around 80 at full power and everything does at it should.
  20. its every other sunday, the next one is this sunday the 4th of April. sorry havent got the number. if you head on down the 419 towards ciren, come off at the spine road junction and head towards the big countrywide stores. go into the cattle market opposite and they will direct you after you have paid. its a nice little shoot, nothing flash, just nice people. it changes every week. £12 for 50, £22 for 100. fibre wad only. we go at about lunch time as its quiet, last admitance is 1.00pm. may see you there, i will be the one shooting badly....
  21. i have managed about 30/50 on the last couple of tries which is 60%.
  22. I have been trying clays for the last few weeks and was thinking what is the average score?
  23. there is a great set up at the cattle market next to Countrywide stores off the a419. every other sunday morning, 100 costs £22, nice couple who run it and the layout changes everyweek.
  24. well done for finding one, they are brilliant little cars. those that dont appriciate the badge, know nothing about cars or Skoda as a brand. I am a bit Biased as i run a couple of garages and one is Skoda, i have had many company cars over the years and can honestly say if i was to have to spend my hard earned cash on something, it would have a proud skoda badge on the front of it. well done you
