Nice One I presume your garage is only single skin brickwork which allowed you to access the key on the other side of the door? or was it double skin brick & block (brick and studwork) with open cavity allowing the wire to be passed inside the door frame? Before changing career 3 years ago, I used to be a locksmith so found your method of accessing the key very interesting I don't know if anyone on the forum is into this line of work but if so and they are interested in any locksmithing kit, I still have all my kit which isn't being used at the moment and I'm considering selling it. Obviously due to the nature of the equipment I will only consider selling to someone who can prove their current line of work etc for security reasons.

No Suggestions for prices for the shotguns I'm thinking of selling, or best prices on a new Barretta The idea is hopefully to clear out what I'm not currently using, and purchase one good all round shotgun (as I do very little with clays at the moment to warrant keeping the Miroku trap gun) and then when ( if ) my FAC is granted I can purchase a 17HRM to start with, and there will be room in the cabinet for a 223 in the future when further funds are avaialble. I'm getting the same mileage (30 - 35 ish) to the gallon but my misses uses it for quite a lot of short journeys. I've had mine 12 months now and its brilliant. I live at the bottom of a hill which is a dead end and this is the first year in the snow I have manages to get out without clearing about 150yards of road and salting it. The jimney has been brilliant never missed to get out even with all the snow we had this year, my car wouldn't move

The amount I have put on my form are very conservative I think need to up the amounts before I put the application in. I have put hold 250 and purchase 200 at a time for each. Do they mind a bit of well place tippex on the form?

I am looking in the near future (as long as my FAC is granted) to reduce the number of shotguns I have. I have got some idea of what they are worth but I'm looking for some sensible suggestions from members on the forum before putting a final price on them. I'm thinking of selling: Miroku 12g O/U 6000 TR-1 (trap gun) 30" barrels with full & full fixed chokes, very nearly mint condition hardly been used. Franchi (unsure of modle) 12g single barrel 3 shot semi Auto 2 & 3/4", in very very good condition. Webley & Scott single barrel bolt action 410 in good all round condition Any ideas / suggestions (sensible ones) will be considered if I decide to sell shortly, hopefully if I can find one I would like a Berretta 686E Sporting o/u with 28" barrels (multi choke) doeas anyone know the best deals on these new? Thanks

I was told in my force area that .17HMR's are looked on for more general vermin and .223 was the perfurred for foxes to get a clean kill as the HMR may not knock em dead. Obveously this will also be dependant on distance and skill of the person with the gun

Just wondering how much ammo to put on my FAC application for both storing and purchasing. I am applying for both a .17HMR and .223. How much is acceptable on first application? If I apply for lower levels to store and purchase can these be levels be increased at a later date?

Sorry if this has question has been asked on many occasions previously, if so please can someone direct me to the relevant topics? I am in the process of filling in my firearms application form for the first time, I have a question about shooting on designated land. I have about two or three places that will give me permission to shoot firearms for vermin and fox control so hopefully there shouldn't be any problem with my application, I have held a shot gun cert with the same police force for around 25 years. If I am invited by others (with the landowners permission) to shoot on land which has been passed for firearms shooting but is not listed in my application will this be a problem? I have been reading the BASC guidance on FAC application and this says:- " If you cannot name a piece of land but wish to shoot with a friend or as a paying stalker etc., it should not be a problem, although some police firearms licensing departments will try to turn it into one". Can anyone please enlighten me as to the position on this?

Don't know much about the Blackberry phones and I have never owned one. I was thinking about getting one last time I was due an upgrade, but I was put off by some of the comments I had heard at work. A lot of our staff have them at work (as work phones) and they are always complaining to the IT department that the phones keep going wrong, and they are not very impressed with them. From what I can gather the main problem is when out of service they keep checking for emails and service connection which flattens the batteries quite quickly (I think they are quite battery hungery), this apparently plays hell with some of the software. As I said I haven't owned one, but the rumors have put me off so far, that and the very small keys!!

New to the forum, just thought I would say hi to you all, and thanks for accepting me on the forum. I've been shooting for around 25 years (since I was quite young) mostly clays, but I'm looking into applying for a firearms licence and then purchasing a 17hmr in the near future, then possibly a 223.
