Shooting! - air rifles and more recently shotguns - rabbits, pigeons etc. I like to hunt and am not really interested in organised game shooting. Other interests include boating, motorcycling and i also like the odd pint or two!
  1. Subs arnt much better inthe 410, dont know about the 20 though
  2. Had a look at these myself. Reviews seemed a bit hit and miss really. So perhaps an average gun in this bracket. Gary
  3. front of the decoy pattern seems very close to the hide in the link? http://www.thehuntinglife.com/html/sections/articles/shooting/####.html Gary
  4. I've got a mossy 410 mod pump and find it OK out to about 35 yards with 3 inch carts, if I do my bit and put the shot in the right place. The guns full choke so patterns OK out to this distance. I dont use subs as they dont appear to be any quieter and dont hit as hard either. Great gun for Knockabout work but also use mine to decoy from time to time when close to houses etc. Gary
  5. Fenny Last time i went out fishing at whitby we had a good catch? But your right it is exoensive and your unlikely to recoup your costs in fish!
  6. perhaps helps to buy a few in the pub for them as well.......
  7. I've got a 20ah with no speed controller. It blew but to be honest I always used it flat out anyway Gaz
  8. its lugging all the gear about that is a lot of the problem (disabled) plus I dont like being hemmed in. The way my pigeon shooting is it is nice to be able to move at fairly short notice which is easier with less gear! Was thinking about one of those Jack Pike LLC suits. Anyone used one of these? Gaz
  9. Does anyone else here prefer to shoot without a hide? i just find them such a pain in the **** to put up and much rather just getting camo'd up and using natural cover. Does anyone use ghillies type suits e.g. jack pyke LLC? Gaz
  10. I noticed a big flock lift off a winter wheat filed the other day so you may have a chance. If it is a good flightline you may get lucky and pull them close enough to get a shot Gary
  11. Anybody else had problems using the above in a 410 mossy hush? I was using them yesterday out to about 30yrd and nothing seemed to fall very well to them. Shot one bird at 20yrd which dropped out of the sky apparently stone dead but got up and walked around 5min later. Shot it again on the ground and 5 min later it did the same! You could see the pattern land around it so no probs wth point of aim. Have previously used fiocchi 3 inch normal velocity with ni probs gaz
  12. I have had nothing for weeks either. All my fields wheat stubble. Hoping they get drilled for rape pretty soon
  13. Might also be worth having a quick chat with BASC Gaz
  14. What's the best place to buy one of these from? Gaz
