Had a few good hours today on winter barley with my son started at 11:00 , put out a roter and they came in to take a look big mistake, shot around 70 but had to go at 14:00. The damage they do cannot be repaired so keep a look out and hope for more of this wind.

I am after a .22LR and a .17HMR and I would like them both with scopes and mods fitted, cash waiting for the right guns.

Went out with my son yesterday, very cold very little wind, we did however have some sport walked around the rape fields to get under the flight lines we moved around and we had some good sport, nice slow and sometimes high birds, you need to know the flight lines no need for us to decoy. We had 45 picked and around 15 or so that went into ditches etc.

Any shooter that knocks my door asking ''can we shoot your pigeon'' will be asked to shoot them all.

If wood pigeons are on the decline then us boys in the farming world will be a little richer.

Can I also say that after a couple of hours in the hide they soon get fly blown, I eat a few but give lots away so you need to be quick, if no one bothers to collect them its a grave for them.

Motty In the farming world we have no time for people that just shoot a few to eat, when you have just drilled over 100 acers of rape next to 80 acers of cut beans that means loads of pest pigeon not just one for the pot, it then become a matter of cost .

We will be out this weekend again, lots and lots of young birds around, 70% of our last few bags were full of young birds, only thing is cant give pigeons away around here had to dispose of 60 today.

we posted a topic WHEAT STUBBLE the other day. Took Tom again on Monday afternoon on a field of beans that were cut last week, with the wind in our favor we finished up with 115 woodys picked, Tom is back at school now so its weekends from now on for him.

Had a day with my son on wheat stubble yesterday, started off slowly but after lunch wind picked up a little and we were soon into a few, he has only had his licence a few days and was very proud to pickup 83, we also lost a few, not bad for a lad thats just 2 days into his 15 year, well done Tom.
