  1. Thanks for the replies, could anyone tell me about the difference between having the detachable locks or not and whether this would affect the value?
  2. No i am not a beginner, however it would be my first sidelock. As I stated I am looking for feedback from people who may have had one previously. Basically is there anything specific to look out for when buying one, is there anything on them prone to breaking? Also is there much difference between having the detachable locks or not, apart from obviously being able to remove them.
  3. Im looking to buy an aya no2 and wondered what to look out for when looking at a gun, for example how to check the barrels have plenty of life left, also is there much difference in whether they have the detachable lock - is this reflected in the price? thanks
  4. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a silenced semi auto shotgun as so far i have only been able to find single shot and pump actions. The other option would be to put a silencer on the end of a semi auto barrel but how effective (quiet) would this be and i can also imagine it being very unbalanced. Thanks Oliver
  5. Its the starter motor if its clicking, same has happened to mine and someone else i know. you can get a new battery and the extra bit of power will just start it but eventually it will just stop starting again until you get a new starter! I think it would turn the engine over a bit but just slowly if the battery was going.
  6. Thats a pretty good price for what i can see
  7. well actually because as you can see it was on the edge of rolling although it was supporting itself, the rope had slack in it, at the time i wish it was for posing.
  8. That disco has been modified more than you would think, i reckon that has at least a 7 inch + lift, the shock mounts ETC would have been moved to allow for it, the wheel arches would need major mods and to fit a lift of that size would mean many many more mods that you can't see. and at the end of the day what its driving in is nothing special or challenging.
  9. haha, I've already had these jokes as its on my Facebook but I'm sure there will be some new ones
  10. well I'm not too bothered about arguing but all i know is that from what I've seen discos get stuck too easily and wont do what defenders do! and i wouldn't take a disco 2,3 or 4 off roading if it was mine.
  11. a discovery wouldn't keep all wheels on the ground in the 1st pic and wouldn't manage angles in the second!
  12. I was actually comparing defenders to disco 1's as you wouldn't do the off roading i do in a disco 2,3,4. and i don't think that you could get a discovery doing this kind of thing! these are a few pictures of the light off roaring that I've done when i first got it.
  13. COMPLETE TOSH! I off road my defender and in real off road conditions you can't even compare them. you clearly have no experience of these two cars and certainly not off road! almost as much of a joke as the guy with the ka. discos 1/2s do not have any where near the same clearance or approach angles as a defender and in the mud there is just no comparison. discos that are used off road get scraped in a year or two.
  14. I see it as the people that are slagging off the defenders don't really own them or never had, its always a friend had one or 50 friends had them and they are this this and that. seriously people comparing them to a ford ka for off road ability and even a discovery? i don't see how people think that they are speaking sense, defenders will do way more than a discovery, why do you think that any decent off road discovery has to be cut in half (bob tailed) and lifted to the height of a defender for a start to match to them. do you see any standard discoveries off roading or at a trial? and also i feel that some people don't like the fact that they are more expensive that have a status (if thats what you want to call it) than other cars, almost jealousy.
  15. why don't you save yourself the money and do the uj's yourself, if its like a defender it can take a while to get the props off but its bloody easy, just a circlip and maybe something else to change the uj.
  16. I have for sale a honda 1900x generator, it starts first pull and is very reliable. it has two power outlets, a 110-130 v, and a 220-240v. I believe that you can get a lead that you can plug normal power sockets into so that you are able to run normal tools Etc I am asking £150 o.n.o
  17. 3K for that :o you could have got a lot lot more, one lucky person to get that
  18. ok point taken, i will contact the insurance company and sort the MODS out, I'm not trying to play the big man but you just think why when they cant make that much difference and there are so many idiots doing a lot lot worse on the roads but i will sort it.
  19. I look foward to seeing what the new one lookes like, it will either be great ot hated. I wonder what it will do to the price of the defenders when they stop making them
  20. all i have to say is i pitty you, you must have a boring life to be so picky and intefere with others. i know people who have roll cages etc fitted and have never had a problem. I dont feel bad when the insurance company is taking over a grand from me and what difference are the wheeles going to make in real life? Not a lot! enough said to not ruin the thread and the original purpose of it so if you dont have a 4x4 goodbye.
  21. what i do is up to me so dont start swearing at me! i bought it like that and did not modify it. the wheels are the only modification that i could really see being a problem and they will be changed in time. I would be more concerned with people who dont bother to insure their vehichle at all. i'm sure i've come accross you moaning about silly things that dont concern you before.
  22. I am planning on changing the wheeles to td5 boost alloys or something similair or something more standard. I dont think that many people declare modifications purely because especially at my age it would be even more impossible to insure it.
  23. can i have second refusal for the roof mounted handle
  24. thats because i had just washed and polished it that is the reason that it is not in my name and of course i do not drive it as much as the main driver but at the end of the day i cant see them refusing a payout with no evidence but hopefully i will never be in that situation.
  25. this is my new landy, had it 2 weeks. Any young drivers that want insurance for a 4x4 try the co op, im a named driver for £1100, NFU and every where else wanted over 3k.
