  1. just fed my green anaconda, she is still a baby at 5 foot long and eating a very large rat! sorry about the crappy pic quality (camera phone) she wont need to feed for around a month after this.
  2. lol doubt he'd manage a horse although im sure he would give it a go. heres his female, im breeding him this year.... will hopefully have babies for sale early next year...
  3. to be honest mate it happens a hell of a lot. i once went to pick up a scorpion from a polish guy and he had a room full, i mean at least 100 scorpions all on the dangerous wild animals list. he had the top 3 deadliest species all of which require a license, home check secure enclosure, insurance etc. literally stacked in tuppaware boxes in his living room! its like with the larger snakes and lizards which anyone can buy without any experience as a tiny baby which if given the proper care will grow up with the potential to seriously injure or kill! thankfully reported cases are extremely rare in this country as most dont make it to adulthood or are given to rescue centres once they become too big or aggressive to keep safely.
  4. bloody hell! take it the guy didnt have a dwa license for it. and not surprised about the smell especially feeding chicken, lucky no one caught salmonella! i was considering getting a caiman but ended up with a snapping turtle instead! better off with the python mate.
  5. how do you find the basilisk mate? have heard they are pretty quick!
  6. ha thats one species i have been avoiding for a while now!
  7. yea, surprised that one hasn't come up! he had a good feed (3 rabbits) last week, ill post some pics up next feeding time!
  8. thats a shame mate, beardies are great lizards! ... i've got 1 baby boa constrictor left if your viv needs filling lol this is my bosc, he's just under 3 foot and will eat anything! including fingers! this is my asian water monitor, he is a little over 3 foot but this species is the second largest on the planet with large adult males reaching around 9 foot. although most get to around 5-7 foot. and finally my nile, these are the largest lizards in africa at between 4-7 foot. but have a very bad attitude! the last two are still babies but are still powerful hunters... my water monitor did this to a hamster (already dead) in less than 2 mins!
  9. thanks for the welcome guys, great site so far! .... and yes i did wear green....
  10. he is a good sized male but is as soft as anything, just a big lump of muscle (with teeth at one end) as long as i keep my distance at feeding time he is great to handle. i have 12 snakes here atm. did have anither 20 baby boa constrictors which i bred from my pair but all are sold but one. have all the larger species like green anacondas, yellow anacondas, african rock pythons, burmese pythons, reticulated pythons, carpet pythons and boa constrictors. also have large monitor lizards, nile monitor, asian water monitor and a bosc monitor a snapping turtle and a few tarantulas a jack russel and a japanese akita oh and the mrs has a pet rat (don't ask!)
  11. he still has some growing to do! he is currently housed in a 10x4x3 foot vivarium with double locked doors and perspex instead of glass (perspex wont smash if he hits it) that size enclosure is more than enough for him as he is pretty lazy and usually sleeps most of the day. food wise he usually gets rabbits or guinnea pigs, plus the occasional stray lol id say he could easily manage a mid sized munty, but yet to try him on one. i do have a few species that can grow larger than him but they are still babies, i have one im sure will exceed 16 foot as he is over 7 foot now and not yet a year old!
  12. don't you need a dangerous wild animals license for one of those?
  13. have never owned a tortoise, do have a snapping turtle though he's a character!
  14. thats a good age! so theres a few reptile keepers lurking the forums then! heres a pic of my biggest atm, his name is tiny and he is an adult male burmese python just over 14 foot and still a young snake. (remember females are bigger than this!)
  15. hi guys, just wondering if there are any fellow reptile keepers on here or maby someone has any other unusual pets? i have had reptiles for 17 years now and currently have large snakes including the four largest species in the world... anacondas, burmese pythons, reticulated pythons, and the african rock python. also monitor lizards and snapping turtles. so anyone else have any weird and wonderful animals lurking around at home?
  16. cant go wrong with an r1 mate, cracking bikes! (if you find a gooden) love carbed bikes had a few gixxer 6's including a k2 (r.i.p) and an srad (hooligan) now riding a 2001 kawasaki zx9r, my first kwak and i cant really fault it. not quite as agile as the gixxers but tourquey and plenty of grunt for the morning thrash to work! been thinking of either a gixxer thou or an r1 next.
  17. was also thinking about this but didn't know if id sound "greedy" am i right in thinking i can have the allowance on there but not necessarily use it? or even swap it for another rifle at a later date? (providing i can justify the change)
  18. hi guys, got a few questions but first some background. im 24 and ex forces, i have been using air rifles for a while now both for plinking and rabbits. i am a member of a club, however the club is 140 miles away but i do get to go at least once a month. i also have 2 decent permissions for shooting rabbit (i keep large snakes and shoot for food) i have been thinking about applying for my fac for the past year or so and need a little advice. was considering going for a .17 hmr for rabbit hunting as the bunnies are getting a little harder to creep up on in the openess of one of my permissions. was also considering asking for a .22 lr for the same reason and also plinking at the club. my question is do you think i have shown sufficient reason (in the eyes of the police) to get both rifles on the ticket? also how many rounds would i get away with? seeing as its my first application? (.17 buy 200 keep 400?) slightly more for .22? i probably wont get both rifles straight away and am leaning towards the .17 but i would like to keep the allowance incase a good .22 comes up.
  19. ha, took some great ones just in case, but wouldnt you know it cant find the camera lead...typical eh
  20. thanks guys, im from birmingham btw.
  21. hello there, i have been reading through this info packed forum for a few weeks now and thought it about time i joined. anyway, my name is aaron im 24, ex-forces and been doing quite a lot of plinking and rabbit hunting with air rifles over the past year or so. found this site really useful so far and seems a decent group of users. so please bear with my basic questions that i will no doubt be asking around here.
