Gotta agree 110% with cat & emmsy, the last england team selection shoot was a joke . Saturday was squaded & the ref who took our squad round was only missing wearing the big rubber floppy shoes & the red nose. seriuosly hope that they get it right this time!!!!!!!!!, thought coniston had the shoot this year

As you have all these great ideas for phil moss & his shoots why dont you ring him & tell him...... just found his previous shoot flyers which clearly identify the differant ground locations along with the post code.....the number shown is 07836 676654.Im sure he is open to suggestions from such a experianced shot as you !!!! All of the shoots have been posted on the essex cpsa website as well www.essexcpsa.co.uk The 1st ground at stock wasnt as picturesque as the land at herongate but there was nothing wrong with the targets !!!! Regarding the dates, well there will allways be a clash with something...and not everybody has the finances to shoot 80 birds, thats why its a re-entry shoot !!!

Dont waste your money with them, the guy there hasnt won a raffle prize let alone any county titles.... Just ask around, those who have success are the ones that you need to learn by, be taught by someone who has been there & done it !!!!....google the the names who have been mentioned, its up to you where you spend your money but success breeds success

Contact John Dyson, he has won loads over the years as former world & european fitasc champ as well as top sporting & skeet shooter, he can give you lessons at hepworth hall, halstead.

I saw him at a game shoot just before xmas where i was beating, he was loading & coaching someone on a driven pheasant day, i spoke to him briefly & asked where he advertises his shoots & he told me in the local gun shops, pull mag & on the essex cpsa commitee website (evidently he used to be the chairman, i here from others that he did lots of good things & still has lots of contacts) He said he is looking to have a shoot in march, but wants the land to dry out a bit first...dunno if he will bother with this tho !!, he seems a no noncense, straight to the point kinda guy, but allways has a smile & up for a laugh....thats what the keeper said to me after i had spoken to him ??

Phil moss did run a 3rd shoot at the same venue, you are right in saying the second shoot was under subscribed.We spoke to phil after the second shoot & he was dissapointed and wasnt gonna be bothered with another shoot but scott said that he convinced phil to try again & the 3rd shoot had a lot more entries & only the weather probably made a few more stay away, like you say that ground where the shoot was enabled some excellent targets to be presented with only a few traps in view of the shooters in the cages. I heard a few saying it was too hard for the less experianced shooter but i spoke to him & he seems to have a passion for puting on a good variety & mixture of sporting targets, him & scott greenfield have done a lot of shooting between them. Phil m said to us that he will start having a shoot again after the game shooting season & will see how the attendances go to see if he will carry on....if people attend the shoots they will continue, if they dont attend then it will be another loss for sporting shooters in essex i spose which will be a shame because i think they were good shoots, albeit the 1st one was over subscribed as they allowed for 90 entries inc reentries & had 150 +.

Cat, Congratulations on your assumption of the above, 100% correct....a legend in their own eyes !!!!, think they did shoot a registered event once !!!, & never went back for anymore, got into B class Happy new year BTW

BOGGSY, I have read & reread your posts & i cannot really see any worthwhile questions generated by yourself that require a sensible & thoughtful answer, i was quiet amazed to see your reply so late into the night & can only assume that MUMMY got you up for potty training duties....we seem to be getting off the initial thread of the question in hand, so once again i will ask, if you have any questions that warrant a mature & responcible answer then please post ??, if not make sure that all your toys are collected up & put back in the pram..for another day!!!

Bagsy, What questions have i as you put it "conveniently failed to answer" ?, i have looked at your previous posts & cannot see any questions from you....adult or otherwise !!!, i will attempt to answer any question that you ask me, however being identified by you as "A BIG BOOBIE" only deserves the answer that your inmature comments command !!!! The vocal ESSEX FRATERNITY have got a long way to go in winding me up, thats for sure, shame that WEBBY is getting the blame tho !!! You seem to have these guys sussed & youve hit the nail on the head using the terminology "bunch of dabblers", i bet most of them think that using a bit of choke is to get their lawnmowers started !!!, hopefully the dabblers will indulge in a bit of jaywalking on the M25 in 2011

Just goes to show how small minded & ill informed you are and your lack of knowledge regarding clay shooting really shines through all the the hot air & smoke that you puff n produce. Why are you blaming Dennis Webb, ive already advised you that i am not him !!!!!!!!!there are more than just him who shoots competatively in Essex, just check out the CPSA website, if ur a member that is , if ur not then i hope for anyone elses sake that shoots with you that you have insurance, because with your knowledge & attitude anyone else may need it !!!. : BTW its the wooden end that goes into the shoulder.
