  1. The post office have difficulty delivering my mail to the right address without trying to work out what constitutes a component part for a firearm. They mention banning sending such items as magazines. This item is not a component part under the current act but the post office would like to reclassify it for their purposes. If the law makers allow the law abiding public to possess these without restriction why do the post office see fit to ban their transportation.

  4. Thinking of buying a parrot, Thinking along the lines of something like a blue fronted amazon, dont want something as big as an african grey. does anyone have experience of keeping parrots that could tell me the does and donts of buying and keeping these birds. Please no smart **** answers about pirates and pieces of eight, keep it for someone else s post.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. a few people who are in my address book contacted me to say they had received strange e mails from me offering some sort of wonder drug. after a bit of googling I resolved the issue by changing my hotmail password.

  6. If you read The violent crime reduction act 2006 Guidance to: Air weapons, primers, realistic imitation firearms & imitation firearms. DOES THE ACT APPLY TO THOSE REALISTIC IMITATION AND IMITATIONS ALREADY POSSESSED. This is the official response.THE ACT DOES NOT AFFECT POSSESSION OF EXISTING REALISTIC IMITATION FIREARMS OR THE MODIFICATION OF EXISTING IMITATION FIREARMS SO THAT THEY WOULD BECOME IMITATIONS. What this means is if you own a black one before the act you don't have to paint it orange or any other colour. However if you buy a orange one and paint it black the police may have a few questions for you. The VCR 2006 act was mostly concerned with the manufacture, importation and supply of these type of firearms. On a final note the ME.38 revolver type blank firer was tested recently and because it was considered to be readily convertible to real firearm it is now classed as a section 5 firearm. (5 years in one of the Queens hotels regardless if its orange or not).

  7. I am sorry to hear of your loss, But I would never leave a bike of that value unattended. The people, sorry I mean scum bags that steal bicycles, know an expensive bike from a piece of junk and you might as well hang a sign on it saying steal me. If you look at places were you can lock bikes up have a closer look and you will see all sorts of locks still attached to the bike racks or whatever., These include top of the range Abus locks. As for D locks I was told by a police man all these people need to bust these is a scissor jack, A few turns and say goodbye to your bike. If you cant afford to lose it dont leave it unattended. Some insurance companies include bike insurance for when you are away from home on certain policies, but I have had to pay extra on some policies for this type of insurance.

  8. I collected stamps when I was a kid in an era when a lot of kids collected stamps and before computer games. I recently passed a stamp collectors shop and I went in and had a chat with the owner. I told him about the stamps I owned asked him if they were worth anything and his advice to me was to stick them on an envelope and just use them. It seems everyone back then collected stamps and there are so many from that time that they are not worth much. He also said that more recent stamps are worth more as kids no longer collect stamps to the same degree therefore they are worth more, go figure

  9. As per title I have a JVC Interi Art TV which I would like to give away as it too good to go to the dump. This TV was one of the last pre digital tv's produced. Its a 21" flat screen, stereo. It is only 15" deep. All this tv needs to receive pictures again is a free view box and it would suit someone for their holiday home, or caravan. If anyone is interested it can be collected from the general Leeds area.

    Thanks.

  10. I bought a Sievert 2135 blow torch new of evil bay. It was only when it arrived and i read the instructions did i realise that this particular model does not take disposable cartridges but takes a refillable cartridge. It would appear that the cartridge i need is a Sievert / Primus 2000. Quick look on evil bay has empty ones for about a tenner and full ones for about £30. First question if I buy an empty one how and where can I get it filled, how much will it cost and how long will it last. Secondly at £30 it seems quite expensive for the full cylinder considering you can buy a disposable screw on type for blow torches from home base, B and Q for a fiver. So do i cut my loses and just buy a cheap one that takes the disposable cartridges or do i put out more money to buy the refillable cartridge.

Thanks in advance for any help
