  1. 20GAUGE

    22. rifle

I payed £180 for one 5 years ago and its been one of the best guns I have owned, loads of enjoyment for your money.
  2. We have been out with our standard .223 and a moderated 22-250. The 22-250 is a hell of a weapon and very quiet with the moderator on, we shot 5 over 600 acres in one short session and I believe it was because of the sound moderator. And as you may well know spend your money /dads money on a crisp scope, more important than the rifle, in my own opinion
  3. Have just put that into google and up came a firm called footwearcountry. Had a word with the chap there and he reckons the Irish Setter boot is one of the most durable.Does anybody own a pair on here??
  4. I have a pair of the Mouflon Gtx boots. They have been sent back 4 times in the first year. And the guy I bought them from hasnt quibbled he just keeps sending them back. Its not very good for an expensive item, and I wont buy Le Rubbish again. Can anybody else recommend a hard wearing boot? The Deamon boots that hoggs do look good
  5. Good point Teal.I do feed a couple of flight ponds and I think the main differance comes from duck having a close season, which personally I feel pigeon should have, personal choice, dont care if people wish to shoot all year round I put my money, or should that be lead, where my mouth is and as you know I leave them alone after march. And we try and do our best on knocked down maize and roost shooting in February while we can, its not something we do all year round.
  6. Thankyou for telling me I cant spell I am fully aware of that fact, at least I can get a point across without f ing etc. And as there isnt any need for the dross of this world to know my location et al, enough said. And guess what I have read the whole topic, hence re listing. And I prefer to debate a topic not just make insults, by the way I dont insinuate.
  7. Firstly do you really need to use such sort of language, are you that imbecilic that you cant get your point across without swearing, grow up, boys. Secoundly, I'm not a new poster on this site I have posted here in the early days, I have started a new name as my old "account" was logged to a hotmail account that I no longer use. And yes it has been a tough week. I have been out 3 times this week, twice on OSR and today on a maize strip, and they are particularly difficult to decoy at the moment. I have no need to blow my own trumpet and todays bag was 78. Monday's was 1 rook and tuesdays was 2 pigeons. Shouldn't the moderators of this site erase posts with such language in them, its all a bit school play ground.
  8. Whitebridges Had a lovely day today 78 birds, I thankyou. Damn difficult shooting, and wholey enjoyable. You should try it, who knows you may even like it !! Going to give them another bash tomorrow and then all the boys are out to cover the rape on Saturday and roost shooting afterwards, life is hard! I've noticed this week the little so and so's are very difficult to decoy. Has anybody else found the same? Oh I forgot to say its so lovely to know you can express yourself without expletive's!
  9. Well I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I knocked a maize cover strip down on Thursday and have spilt some maize and beans, which happened to land on the field in question. Whoops. Looking forward to having some serious shooting. We cant get at the pigeons when the boys are game shooting so it shows the farmer willing at the end of the season. Theres no moral question in it, they need thinning out, end of. And if you like to shoot them in summer months with suabs on the nest carry on, it doesnt sit right with me so I dont bother, the gas guns come out. For those interested a cost of a ton of beans is around the £60 mark, maize is more at £100. A ton is pretty good for about 2000 birds to get well interested and with 3 decent guns you should shoot about 200. I shall report tomorrow. And yes I still ****** about over OSR etc have been out twice this week and shot 2, plenty about they just didnt seem to like the deeks.
