Pete Any update on what left on the clear out ! I am interested in the decoys but you are asking top dollar for them Give us an update on whats left and prices I am ready to do a deal this weekend, 15 mins drive to Swindon for me !

Had the visit by the FEO today, No problems. He took a look gave it a quick pull, asked how it was fix to the wall. That's it. Asked a few personal question.. family, house security, where I was going to shoot etc etc Just have to wait to see how long it takes to process the application. I forgot to ask as I was so pleased with the him accepting the shotgun safe. How long does it take ?

Now I am worried, According to the Police guide lines posted by slipster. Bolting it to a breeze block wall is not accepted. In new houses most of the internal walls are breeze block or stud wall. I would find it very difficult to find a suitable place for the safe on an external brick wall. has anyone else bolt the safe to an intrenal 'breeze' block wall

Thanks for the advise, I think I am going to drill to 2 holes in the bottom. Just to be sure.

My Father in law has given my his old shotgun safe (he just purchased a 5 gun one). I am due a visit from the Firearms enquiry officer soon. My questions are as follows :- Do gun safes have a BS mark ? Mine only has 2 re-enforced mounting holes on the rear, I have seen other that have 4 or 6 and a few more in the bottom. It has two door locks which have been made by Ingersoll (UK) hardened 6 lever. It's contruction is about 1.5 mm thick with re-enforcements on the hinges and locks and has blue hammerite finish. It was made by Precision Metalcraft Ltd in Leigton Buzzard. I have fitted to wall using 20mm floor bolts and I have tried to pull it off the wall but it's solid (a usual test i have heard) Do you think it's sounds good enough ?

Thanks for the advise, I think I will just look at cammo wear & hides, or blinds as they call them.

Rock Doves (Pigeon US style)

Doing a quick search on the WWW, Pigeons are in the US but are called 'Rock doves' I have a picture but cannot paste it or upload it :<

Go easy I am new to shotgun shooting ! I am off the states (Minneapolis) on a business trip next week, I have been informed that I an very close to a 'Cabelas' outlet. Which is one of the biggest hunter shops in the US. I was looking at getting some decoys and looking at what they have. Looking on the web site they don't have anything on pigeons decoys just doves. Are they different to our 'Doves' or do they call pigeons Doves ? Does anybody have any money saving items that I can buy (Cheaper in US than UK) ? Forget the illegal stuff ?
