  1. I was out again the other day with my cousin helping him with his lobster creels, we got this two lobsters and about 20 good big crabs. Just thought I would share this pic of my 3 fascinated boys who scoffed them up with some fresh mackerel for their tea.

  2. I was brought up going to church surrounded by a christian family which I am thankful for because I personally feel it taught me right from wrong and gave me some morals on which to lead a life that is IMO good. By good I don't mean better than anyone else but good as in ,do unto others as you would have done to yourself, which is something I strive to do but all to often fail. I think about that bible verse a lot and feel that it almost sums up the christian religion. I would love to live in a world where everyone lived by that verse.

  3. I have had the spring in the piston go on mine twice but my SX3 is used a lot, and the only times my SX3 has failed to cycle it has been due to lack of cleaning. If I was buying another auto it would certainly be an SX3.

  4. Are they just salted and dried, and that's it ? Are they a sort of cod ? (sorry for asking '' stupid '' questions, but I live a bit far from the sea...... and even further from the Shetlands  )

Yeah, just laid in and covered with salt for 5-6 days and dried and frozen. Eaten fresh it's not as good as cod or haddock, I suppose its a poor mans cod.

  5. Just been and picked up my new scope to replace the leupold vx3 6.5-20 thats on my .223, the leupold is a good scope and the target turrets are perfect but the cross hair is too fine for lamping with the red filter. After some pondering and head scratching I ordered a nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56, it is huge  it kind of swamps my wee A-bolt ha ha. Can't wait until I get a calm day to get it zeroed and have a play with it :)

  6. I had an old 2 5/8 hammer 10 bore for a while which I loved, I used it for both ducks and geese. I got it with a few boxes of old paper eley kynoch no4 and BB which worked fine but mostly at normal 12 bore ranges. The other 10 bore I have used was my friends purdey using 3 1/2 BB which was mustard on geese. Going on my little experience with 10 bores I would have one over the 12 anytime IF feeding it was easier and as cheap as the 12. I suppose reloading is the answer, a nice light load for duck at night, a heavier duck load for flighting duck and a good thumper for stopping geese. I would like a gun along the lines of my friends purdey, heavy enough to soak up a lot of the recoil of the heavy shells but light enough to not be a burden like some his bigger guns.
