Thanks fellas! Im just trying to weigh up all the pros and cons for both before deciding on a new gun. I think the 12 is more suited to my jobs but somehow I still fancy a 20 bore for shooting in and around the farmyard. Garry

Hi everyone. Im mainly a rifle shooter so please forgive my lack of shotgun knowledge. I currently have a 12g o/u beretta and use it for clays and decoying crows etc. I am thinking of expanding my shotgun armory as I want to do a bit more shotgunning. My question is how does a 20 bore compare to a 12 bore? What merits does a 20 bore have over a 12? In what shooting scenario would you be better off using a 20 over a 12? Finally what cartridges would you use in a 20 for decoying crows? As mentioned above,excuse my lack of shotgun knowledge but this is why I joinedthis forum to learn from you folk. Thanks Garry

Hello all, Im new to the forum. Im from Northern Ireland and I enjoy a wide variety of shooting. Im mainly a rifle shooter, mostly foxing and long range varminting. I shoot 223, 220 swift and 6.5x47. In the process of trying to get a 6mm on at the mo. I also shoot pistol in a few clubs i am in aswell. The main reason for joining this forum is that from the little shotgun shooting I have done I want to do more. We have a 250 acre farm and grow some crops and last year I took a rattle a decoying a few crows and having a pop with my beretta o/u. Well I have to say it put a massive smile on my face as my barrels never got cooled in that 1 hour period early in the morning so I have come on here to get advice and see how you folk do it.
