  1. thanks I have sent them a message but no reply - they are in Scotland though! Thanks
  2. What are you looking to spend mate?
  3. I bought this 2 weeks ago brand new from the local gun dealer - before I realised that the Landrover needed LOTS of work. So I figured seeing as I bought it for a bit of fun it should be the first to go. What is it: A BSA Lightning XL (with Moderator) in .177 calibre. It is the Maple Stock Version It is fitted with a Simmons White Tail 3-9x40 Scope with Bisley quad Clamp Mounts and a Brand New Logun Lamp including the full filter kit. The Gun and the Lamp and Filters are BRAND NEW and all still in box and with warranty. The Scope is a year or so old but looks brand new. This Gun has fired 10 Yes 10! pellets! as I say I only bought it 2 weeks ago and haven't had a chance to fire it except in the garden on the first day i picked it up. It comes with 500 H&N Hollow Points and 500 other flat tops. I am based in Surrey don't mind travelling a little - but can post to your RFD at your cost. Price? I paid £277 for the gun £79 for the Lamp £15 for the filters £75 for the scope £8 for the pellets Total: £456 So lets say £350 the lot for a quick sale? (I still have the gun and lamp reciepts if you want them) Remember this is Brand New Kit!
  4. Morning Gethyn and Family Thank you ever so much for your hospitallity last night. We were very grateful for the refreshment after the first leg of our 9 hour round trip! Both of the Pups are settling in well, our Pup (currently being called Shamus? although we are trying to think of a good welsh name) seems to like his new family and spent most of this morning following around Rosie one of our King Charles trying to chew her tail! Bryn (the other Pup) is also getting on well with Alfie his new brother. Bryn was a little car sick, but once it was out he was full of life all of the way home without incident. I hope the rest of the litter go to good homes soon, and that the Hound enjoys his first season. P.S. Do you have any papers or info you could give us on the Pups? we are not pedigree conscious but it is nice to know where they are from. Also what date were they born? Thanks Again Dan and Seana hi dead eye please can you give me a call on *********** as we would like to come and look at taking 2 of the pups
  5. Hi everyone the franchi has gone and i now have a new bsa lighting xl fully kitted out with a logun lamp filtes pellets and some 12g carts not bad swap with a gun shop! Thanks
  6. hi dead eye please can you give me a call on *********** as we would like to come and look at taking 2 of the pups
  7. So whats best for hunting (in .177 cal)? BSA Lightning XL (springer) Webley Exocet (Springer) Umarex Air Magnum (Co2) Weihrauch HW97k Which ever of the above I get I will fit a moderator (where one isn't already supplied) I am mostly going to be nailing Rats and the occasional Tree Rat. Also which is better the Deben Atom or the Logun Lamp? Thanks Everyone! DB
  8. Hi I have had loads of enquiries and 2 no shows on the Franchi Alcione I have been trying to sell. I have now decided to take it to the local gundealer who garaunteed me a price (all be it a low one). But here is one last try to get a bit of value from what is an exceptional gun. Does anyone have a .177 non-FAC air rifle they would like to swap with my 12g O/U Franchi Alcione SL 28" 1/4 and 1/2 single trigger Shottie? It is in great condition. with no damage. I am looking for something I can shoot rats with at night so moderator and or Lamp would be good too. I guess I am after either a Lightning XL or Xocet or a PCP or Air Magnum as long as it is .177 and near as damned full power. Scope not needed. Thanks DB
  9. Thanks for your comment tuck. I would not be exercising them together and in that sense the kcs are fine anyway. What are peoples views on crates?
  10. Hi my partner and I are looking to start our first gundog in the new year and have everything planned and prepared; however, we have only one concern. We presently have 2 rescued old Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - who although not bad, they do have some mischevous tendencies. We are a little concerned that this could rub off on an impressionable pup? I realise that we must be nothing but consistent with the Pup but in our absence when left alone with the KCS's is he liekly to be led astray? should we Crate him/her when we are out? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated DB
  11. Not sure if you have looked at my Franchi that was up for sale - been let down by two people now. Its a 12g 28" single trigger O/U Ejector Franchi Alcione SL - It is in extremely good condition - no damage. Lovely to shoot and little felt recoil. I just need to shif it so would very reluctantly take £300 best DB
  12. The Missus wants a small 4x4 so she can fill it full of horsey stuff therfore her lovely MX5 is up for sale or swap. It is a Black 94 UK Mazda MX5 1.6i with ABS, PAS, EW, Tan Leather Interior, Glass rear heated window, Thatcham Immobiliser, Mazda 15" upgrade alloys with new Toyo Proxy tyres. Every inch of the outside of this car is spot on, no rust no dings, dents or fading. The drivers seat has a wear patch on the usual place which is the only let down on the whole vehicle. The car comes with all the original bits like tan leather tonneaux for the hood etc - all books and manuals The car has an extensive if not full history with 90k on the clock. If you want an appreciating classic this is the version and model to have. Garauntee first to see will buy or swap. See the pics an be impressed. P.S. everything on this car is Mazda OE - its not been "trevved up" we bought it with the intention of keeping it until it was a classic which it is fast becoming, but needs must and all that. http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan...nson/9586_1.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan...nson/9a63_1.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan...nson/9779_1.jpg We are looking for £3500 Ono or will swap or Px for a good Vitara, Sportrak or HRV (no bigger than 1600cc) Thanks
  13. Correct me if I am wrong but I think he is delberatly giving a silly price to invite others to make an offer as he has no idea as to their real value which I would guess is in the region of £20-30.
  14. Thats my local - what you doing selling to al the way down there for? I take it Richard gave you a good price?
  15. Thanks Jay really appreciate you getting us off to a start - have a basic indication of value as local gundealer has put a £250 price on it, but hoped to get a little more - this gun has hardly fired an carts. http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan.../DSC00007-2.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan.../DSC00011-2.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan.../DSC00009-2.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan...on/DSC00013.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q61/dan...on/DSC00009.jpg here are some links to pictures. Alternatively if you want to make a cash offer this could also be entertained. RFD transfer or meet up can be arranged. Cheers DB
  20. Hi Mainly after the Battery/Energiser bit - fence and posts would be a bonus but not the main requirement? Have you got a model number or picture? Thanks Dan
  21. Thanks for all points above - and I understand where you are all coming from. A Lab with lineage was always the default position - despite that fact our very close friends professionally work and compete Cockers. I would not say I am a defeatest, but I have sort council with a number of our local professional handlers and the temprament of a Lab suggests it may be better suited to my requirements, type of shooting, terrain and expectations etc. As for the X line - I just thought it would be nice to work with a slightly different beast, it is not to say that I would only look for a Mongrel, nor that any would be accepted but I am well aware that accidents do happen and that those pups generally go wanting due to the pretense that eminates from KC registrations. Taking into account the advice given - I will re-visit my thoughts and probably spend a little more time with our Cocker friends - better to use the resource at hand and all that. We have shot over them on and off for 2 seasons and to say they are wonderful is an understatement! Thanks Again
  22. Hope someone can help: My partner and I are looking for something a little different: I shoot once a week throughout the year on a combo of walked up and driven pheseant - I also get a fair share of Pigeon and Vermin on our small DIY estate (apx 1000 acres). We have been back and forth about getting a dog to work for sometime but we are about to move into a considerably larger house and I feel the time is close! We already have two lovely but very old KCS's who couldn't care less about other dogs. My partner and I have considered a KC registered gundog and I love the steadfastness of the Labrador, As much as I would love to think that I could train and work a Cocker or Springer, I am a realist and am not going to go there! I have met a couple of lovely Lab cross dogs on rough shoots (one a LabXcollie and the other a LabXHPR) I know that the KC would freak out at the concept of someone deliberately messing with a breeds gene pool and thus I have found it very hard to find any working X breeds (other than lurcher's!) Does anyone know of any accidental litters that have involved whole or half working stock? Does anyone have a working dog with any HPR traits in its lineage? Let me know if you know of any Non-Pretentious litters that are due/been born Thanks DB and SF
  23. You might also want to check the warning in the sale section it would Appear Junior11111 has got himself into some bother before! And from what the Moderator has posted it looks as though his IP address is about to be banned,. If you aren't going to play fair - **** O*f
