  3. Looking to Buy or swap Gun Cabinet. I have a 3 Gun Cabinet only 18 months old but I am about to buy my 4th gun so need to upgrade, anybody out there need a three gun or selling a 5 or larger cabinet or another cheap 3 gun cabinet? Cheers DB
  4. Hi Tagwag Managed to borrow a 5 yr old M/c Lanber from a member of a local club to let this missus try out, it looks like the same gun from the photo's. Thought best to try something before commiting to buy or driving all that way. The up shot is she did not get on with it , found it to barrel heavy with a 14.5" stock (which fitted her well). Sorry for wasting your time buddy. I am sure someine will buy it, it is a bargain! you could always P/X it at you local smiths for a .410. DB im in lincs and dont go to london mate not really sure how old it is cheers
  5. Thanks Tagwag chunky Rib you got there mate! where abouts are you based? do you ever get any where near London? One more question I promise: How old is the gun? Cheers DB
  6. Sounds good, can you send or post a pictureof the rib of the gun, i.e. as if you were shooting it. The gun is for my GF who has gotten used to my Beretta that has an unusaully wide rib, every other gun she has tried she has complained the irb is not wide enough! Women!!! Thanks Tagwag DB
  7. I have an extremely good condition 12g Baikal O/U for sale however it is DT. If you are interested I am looking for £130 im in Surrey nr woking Let me know if your interested? DB

  9. Spot on thanks a lot! Cheers DB Target sports bolton, or blackpool air rifles will be able to sort you out with an adustable butt plate...think they are about 20 quid........
  10. Ok So I know every one here hates the cheap chineese imposters (B2 SMK). But I recieved one a while ago and by sheer luck it was straight, and shot straight! Now it is ugly, so I stripped it back to bare wood and its component parts and re-treated the stock and rebuilt the mech. It now looks presentable. With a nice scope and good mounts it shoots very accurately with a nice amount of power, suitable for small vermin, at normal ranges. One thing I would like to try is to put a butt plate on it as the stock is too short, any suggestions as to what might fit? and where I could get one? Anyone out there have an old butt plate I could buy/have/swap? Thanks DB
  11. I agree with your sentiment, about fisherman who took the ostrich pose when the hunt ban was in full debate! but as my old Dad would say, 2 wrongs dont make a right and we should rise above, I would welcome the national fishing thingy society to get in contact with the Countryside alliance, BASC, GCT etc. On a Lighter Note Please do not read on if your easily offended: has anyone noticed the "popular culture" Irony of the Rabbit flew case........Goldie Looking Chain song Guns Don't kill people Rappers do, Should now read "Guns don't kill people Rabbits do" I'm sorry not nice, I will get back in my box.
  12. Would you split them? Cheers DB
  13. Would anyone like to swap there 12 or 20 Side by Side for either: A Lotus Esprit S3 Head and or Pistons & Liners? OR: A Double Up Wakeboard and Liquid Force Bindings & Bag OR: a Lotus Esprit S2 Chassis OR: a 17" Brown Leather GP Saddle (excellent condition) OR: an Antique Oak Vivarium with lamp and Heat Mat 3.5ft by 2.5ft by 2ft Random I know, but you never know!!!! DB
  14. In that case I am happy, It's good to hear it is working well, I guess I was expecting it to be working badly, As I say I have only limited AR knowledge although I could wax lyrical about patterns of shot all day! I have tried using flat top RWS pellets and various others and although they seem to transfer a lot of power to the target they dont seem to be killing as cleanly as the Bisley hollow points. as for prometheus they just tear wholes in everything and you end up having a 30-40 yard sprint to quickly despatch the guarry. I must say I am pleased with my gun, I immediately rubbed down the stock and stained it, then extended the butt plate by an inch and it is spot on. Guess I was just lucky! Thanks DB
  15. SMK B3 - yes it is a cheap gun and yes it is a lottery if you get one which shoots straight, but we have crows that pester the hell out of some elderly horses on my Girl Friends yard and it is not safe to get at them with my prefered 12g or 20g so I resorted to .22 Bisley Pest controls and an air rifle. I reall did not want to go over board with a snazzy AR as I would hardly get time to use it, instead I bought for the sum total of £40 inc p&p a SMK B3 with a 4x40 scope. It makes Blacky dropping easy at 30-40 yards. One question though, without buying another gun altogether are there any little tweaks I can do to give it a little more oomph? Cheers DB
  16. Interestingly not one Hull or Eley cartridge, I must say I do like Gamebores! trusty Blue Diamond 28g 8 kicks a pretty deadly punch DB
  17. No you don't sound Dumb but they are most definately Sonic! they were the Competition load Dont want to sound dumb.. but are you sure you didnt buy a batch of subsonic Hulls? these are quiet, less recoil etc for use in moderated shotguns Dont kick me if I sound dumb
  18. Spend £700 on a good quality Beretta 686, if you can get MC but Fixed is just as good! DB
  19. I feel I must put in my ten penith as everyone seems to be going for volume over quality, I would say a generous snifter of single malt (Lochranza or bit cheaper - Glenmorangie) over 3 rocks and a dash of Soda! Just the ticket, two of those and I am out for the count! Bliss!! DB
  20. Thanks for all the tips. Shot a box of 25 from a different box of 250 and they are fine, definitely the cartridges! As for a Browning.......well I considered it once but having dealt with Rusty MG B's, I learnt my lesson ........ Only buy stuff made of good metal that won't corrode at the hint of moisture. Furthermore lets face it what is Belgian good at that would support them as gun makers?.......Lace, Waffles and mindless bureaucracy in the name of the EU.....oh sorry forgive me most of their guns are Japanese! I REST MY CASE!!!
  21. interstingly, the boxes of 250 were from different batches, I am not to fussed about a refund at the moment, I am shooting the others tonight and if another box of 25 are duff then I will mention it to them. thanks for the advice though.
  22. £500 go for a second hand italian or Belgian gun, if you can a Beretta or Browning (although try to get one with Stainless barrels), bettinsoli seem ok, maybe even a later Lanber Sporter. don't buy a new lincoln, as soon as you hold it you have lost £150, I know we don't buy guns as an appreciating asset (well most mortals don't) but I think a good quality 2nd hand gun is better than a lower quality new one! also go 12g if you can, generally there will be more choice and more chance of a bargain. DB
  23. Here is an odd one, went shooting skeet last night with my trusty Beretta, whipped out my Hulls that I have only just started using but have used half of a batch of 500. 1st stand 4/4 2nd stand bottom barrel fires top does not. hmmm, odd, try again on the pair, some thing again began to think service or repair! 3rd stand, both barrles work, then the pair and only the bottom works again, realise the selector has not moved across, do it manually and manage to discharge. Change gun and guess what! same inconcsistency This leads me to one conclusion, duff cartridges, after I realised this was probably the cause I noticed the usual bang was more af a "thut!". Any body ever had a duff batch of cartridges, it's the first time I have encountered it. DB
  24. Now I am no eco warrior, but I have been reading about this revolutionary T coat technology that seals lead shot and which provides less deformation thus creates better patterns (less holes) and as a biproduct is eco friendly (although i would imagine just leaves lots of shot all over the place). So has anyone tried it and noticed a difference? it only puts 1 to 2p on a cartridges rrp. I asked at my local gunshop and was told "what a load of old ********!" but then again if you don't shoot atleast 28/8's for everything your a pussy in this particular shop! LOL so whats the crack?
