let me get this straight you are implying that 'that out of range bird' is more likely to come in because two tiny little eye lids have been removed, im pretty sure eyelids being removed is only a detail birds will spot if they are close enough to shoot and even then it is unlikely they will care, if a bird is willing to land down beside plastic decoys, which they are frequently they are hardly going to notice if a fellow bird has eye lids or not, i appreciate you leaving tips and hints they can be really helpfull but please forgive me for my rant and apreciate it is a forum designed for people to reply, i am not just being annoying. james

do i need to use a lighter strain trace?

im really bad at all this when u say a trace those that mean a different strain of line attahced 2 end of normal line and to hook/bait/lure?? also i have frozen sandeals for bait i plan to use them below a sliding float, what is the best way to hook/present? i heard a story of some one who didnt want 2 drill 2 many holes in his wall so drilled one hole and attached this with bolt. for the other three he hacksawed off the bolt just below the nut and superglued the nut and stump of bolt onto cabinet. (i do not condone this behaviour in any way)

are you allowed 2 shoot over wild bird mix?? isnt the whole point that its for wild birds like pigeons and isnt that why the farmer is getting the subsidy for planting it??? i would be carefull you arent jepordising that i may be wrong, ive done it b4 and ill do it again. james

if none are left only wounded only as soon as pigeons start turning away after seeming to already commit

today after 5 hours of GCSE revision i went on a little recon mission round the feilds of dumfries and galooway. pedaling along i saw a few feilds of drilled barley with say 10-15 birds on. and eventualy found one with about 50 rooks and 40 pigeons, had a good solid flightline over the feild and trees al around not to mention a steady breeze. it looked perfect so i went up 2 the farm house and asked nicely. turns out the shooting there is rented so nothing available for just at the moment. i carried on and found more feilds with about 10-20 birds on and a few flying about, wondered if this would be worth it so maybe ill go back and see tomorow? in your experience is 15 birds on a feild worth it if that is the only problem with the feild and if the feild is quite small can it still be shot on? thanks james

sounds like she need protein nd if ashe is brooding the other may be getting the whole protein supply. Throw in some old mince or a rabit sliced down the middle with its innards out, worth a try and wont do any harm.

i have a litttle bit of money saved up and was wondering what to buy which would help me best for the coming summer assault on pigeons. Here is a list of my equiptment; Gun + carts (had to write to avoid sarcy comments) cartridge bag 12 shell decoys not flocked 4 full body crow decoys 5' by 10' ex army cammo netting 5 home made hide poles (electric fence poles) (not very practical to carry around as not extendable) a seat i use an old potato sack for transport cheap not very good carousel 2 home made floaters (not the best) for clothing i use a barbour wax jacket, camo long sleeve t shirt (when warm), green trousers, real tree gloves and a green baseball cap any additions would be lovely and the cheapest/best place to buy them would help to. if any of you have any thing to sell which you feel would help me please post as well. thanks alot for help james
