Hi Savage Steve,
OK here - i will PM you now.

Hi All,
Having a clear out and have the following 5 pairs of Rivers West trousers for sale.
Very waterproof and warm so ideal for Winter use and are very tear / puncture resistant.
All have been professionally shortened to a 30” inside leg.
All are size L (large) and fit 36” to 38” waist - they do have an elasticated section at the back of the waistband so are comfy around the waist.
All are in excellent condition due to lack of use and now 12 months later being too big for me.
Pairs 1, 2, 3 and 4 all have zipped leg bottoms, but Pair 5 are just normal trouser bottoms.
Good deal for anyone wanting them all £120 posted !
Anyone wanting more info or more photos then please PM me and I will email answers / better photos.
Many thanks.
Pair 1 - Ranger Pants in Camo £30 posted.
Pair 2 - Ranger Pants in Olive £30 posted
Pair 3 - Ranger Pants in Black (bought in the USA) £30 posted.
Pair 4 - Outlaw Pants in Olive (but I might have the name wrong - these are heavier and different pockets) £30 posted
Pair 5 - Pants in D Green (like Lincoln Green. Lighter material with normal bottoms) £25 posted.
This is what the zipped bottoms look like on Pairs 1 - 4.

Great cars with solid build quality and like mentioned - easy to modify and not silly money.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.
I’d sooner have something break properly than have have troublesome electrics !

My old Landrover is tax exempt, my new one however cost me just over £500 as it’s a seven seater.
I will soon be in the same boat - not sure if it deserves a frownie or a smilie ??
What model is your new one as I know on certain models the only option to avoid the extra 2 seats is to have a heavy duty tow bar fitted.
Obviously no use for those wanting the plus 2 ability but 2-3 years tax saving would pay for it as a factory fit item.

Nothing on my Series 3 Landrover, its now registered historic.
Nice one.
Do you still need an MOT?
Some mates were talking and saying something about classics not needing one?
Apparently makes it easier to sell an old number plate as the vehicle it’s off no longer needs to be on the road.
Cheers.

Another happy CZ455 owner here

As others have said - shocking !
Our last home was on a quiet close with no through road.
Really nice and quiet for the first 12 years then a new estate was built which shared access off our entry road.
The new estate was ‘affordable’ housing and most of them were owned by a housing association.
I don’t have a problem with classes of people (I was born and spent 22 years of good life on a council estate) but as others have said some people simply should not exist.
Over the next 6 years vandalism / crime went up on our close -
From things like one 10 year old lad in a group of 4 playing knock a door and run (we all did that I know but he did it with stones) to finding an air pellet sized hole in the outer pane of a double glazed unit to having my then company car scratched and dented.
Money is always tight to most and our lovely close had quite a few pensioners in particular who simply could not afford to repair the damage caused to their properties and vehicles.
We are fortunate and have decent jobs / income so moved 3 years ago to a semi rural location and so far haven’t regretted the move, apart from losing contact with some very nice neighbours / friends - some we still catch up and they don’t tell good stories of the old estate.

All BASC 'discounts' are on FULL list price, and DO NOT work along with any other discounts.
In short - the discount is basically what any garage will knock off anyway, because nobody pays list price in the first place.
You are correct - you can have one or the other.
I thought this would be the case and it worked out better with LR contribution plus Dealer discount.
Cheers.

Bizarrely with just a little bit more deposit the monthly repayment was £11 per month more which they then managed to reduce further.
At the moment with new car sales down then it’s actually a good time to go for new.
Nearly went for a 6 month old one with 6000 miles on it but due to the above I thought stuff it.
This way I get exactly what I want (and can afford) rather than getting nearly everything I want.
Never personally bought a new car till now as had company cars for past 20 years.
I would agree with your statement normally.

I think if you log into the basc site under motoring tab with you membership number you can then see the discounts per model.
that or drop them an email
i found them easy to deal with and got a good discount off my ford, better than any broker as discount is before vat.
the dealers should be able to tell you the discount but you will need to quote your basc number and speak to someone on the fleet side
Cheers for this - I will have a look see.
thanks for all other replies as well.

Why not just call BASC ?
Mate did and no info given - told to go through dealer (Mitsubishi, I think)
They were no help, said a lot of fuss so went through carwow.
-
Apologies for late reply, just got in from work - thanks for the replies.
I will look again at discount sites but currently the LR contribution plus the dealership discount is pretty good.
Between the 2 of them its over £4K then there’s warranty and servicing supported deals.
I’ll ask tomorrow ref BASC and see if beneficial or not.
Cheers.
-
Hi All,
Does anyone know what the BASC discount would be off a new Land Rover?
Plus, would it be added to any current LR discount being offered or is it a case that you can’t have both?
Many thanks.

I used to work for an abrasives company and we did a glass repair kit.
Normally it's different grits of abrasive discs used on a rotary polisher to condition the scratches into a hazy appearance.
Then the paste is applied to a rigid felt pad on an electric rotary polisher spinning about 1800 rpm.
It was a bit hit and miss as until you get the glass back to a transparent state you're never sure you've got the scratches out.
Sometimes you had to start all over again with the discs then again with the polish.
Windscreens were always a pain when doing a demo as you can cause a bigger visual distraction by hollowing the glass.
Search on line for videos from a company called Mirka titled Glass Polishing.

Richer Sounds and Samsung are a great combo as others have said.
Buy as good as you can afford would be my advise - I'm quite into AV and would say the following.
Most 4K TVs look great when fed with a 4K signal but 4K is not common place at the moment.
Most 4K TVs look great / good when fed a 1080p HD signal which is more readily available.
But -
Most 4K TVs don't look great when a SD signal is fed to it.
TVs obviously have to upscale the signal in order to fill its screen and this is where good TVs stand out from the crowd.
To upscale a Standard Definition signal to fill a 4K screen the TV has to make up 90% of what you see !
Go to a decent shop and ask them to play various sources through the tv and see what you think.
Don't just be sold something playing a 4K demo disc like Currys always have running - 75% of TV is still SD.
Samsung for example are always good at scaling up and will offer different series of the same model so a 6000 model won't do quite the same job as 9500 model. This will also be reflected in the price of course.
Hope this helps.

We are lucky. We have Richard Potter at Nantwich. They stock birch faced ply also, beech, ash and oak faced. Also all sorts of hardwoods too as well as softwoods.Good hardware shop on site too.
Cracking place - always good service, top quality materials and will machine what you need.
I've used them when needed for the last 25 years plus - now I feel old :(

Loved it
Not long till walking dead tho
im struggling with walking dead tbh! i have watched them all but am losing interest.
now vikings is another thing that starts season 5 in november and that is right up my street!!
Yeah same here,
if they kill Negan and the Saviors and then manage to run into an even bigger, badder gang then I will stop watching it.
Enough is enough, they need to bring it to an end !

I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.
Never a truer saying - well put.
