  1. Just got back in from walking the dog,got down to the wood people walk through. On one small tree three bags of dog **** hanging from the branches, the thing is there's a bin fifty feet from the tree.

    *********.

This annoys the hell out of me as much as not cleaning up at all.

Dirty ****ers - why don't they bin it or take it home and hang off their own trees !

  2. Third season with a pair of Mamute boots - these were recommended as I've got dodgy ankles (sprained both beating) and they have a hard plastic cup to keep your feet stable. So far excellent. Cost £200 but warm, good in heavy frozen plough (how I sprained my ankles), made by a Swiss company although when I looked closer factory was somewhere in Eastern Europe. a couple of years back noticed Countryfile lasses wearing same boots - not sure if this is relevant but you can dream of Ellie when you slip into yours!!

Yours being the wife or the boots ;) ;)

    Hhmmmm Elliie

  3. They can't use the copy for anything as when you copy it it has like a watermark stating fraud all over it. I know this as my original is at lincs police for renewal so I copied mine.

To me it's more the fact that someone with bad intentions could have access to a piece of paper that clearly states "Shotgun Certificate holder" with my name and address - probably just paranoid, but sooner be safe than sorry.

  4. Personally I would say no thank you and leave.

As someone else has mentioned - where will the copy be kept?

What happens when they have a clear out, will they shred, burn or just put in the bin where some lowlife will then have potential access to your name and address.

We keep a members contact list at a local gun club that I help run and that list must be locked in a safe which club officials only have access to.

    Just my thoughts.

    ATB.

As a side note - I would allow them to have my certificate number and surname. The Police can trace any and all details from that info.

  5. Don't know that model sorry.

Had a 103de 28" multi choke for a while as a rough gun - never skipped a beat and quite pleasant to shoot.

Gave it a friend 18 months ago and he shoots it more than any other of his shotguns and just loves it - again been faultless!

Hope this is of use as far as the make is concerned ref reliability.

  6. I don't mind this - keeps the responsible amongst us away from the few that don't take the responsibility of dog ownership seriously.

So long as it was a one off £30 ish amount then it would get my vote.

Wonder if they would publish a weekly 'name and shame' list of those found not to be cleaning up?

  7. People reckon the pic of the pump on the fuel gauge tells you which side to fill.

It isn't always right though so not much use.

I think what people mean is that there is usually, at the side of the fuel pump logo above, next to, below (wherever) the fuel gauge a triangular pointer pointing to the side of the car where the filler neck is - certainly is on Fords, Vauxhalls, VW's, Mazdas and so on. Most people may not notice it as it is only small and not really of note.

  8. Studley - did your sight turn up and have you had a play yet?

My mate has just ordered one and is waiting patiently for it to arrive.
I fell lucky (or unlucky) with a guy I know from a club who had bought a genuine Aimpoint but did not get on with it after only a month. I bought it for a fair price with the original receipt and fitted it on one of my .22 semi's. Really impressed compared to my other 2 red dots but will wait till my mates new one turns up to see if the money was well spent, or not. At least I won't have to buy batteries for a good while as they say leave it switched on and it will still last for 3 years plus !

  9. But it is there,

Sally traffic on radio 2 often refers to it when pointing out problems in that area

It's a strange little place and was featured as part of a documentary on the M62.

The farmer said he stopped lending tools out to broken down motorists as he never got them back

I certainly wouldn't want to live there as the noise must be horrendous

    :shaun:

The sheep must be well polluted with exhaust fumes - wouldn't fancy eating any of them !
