  1. Can also come out of compost from house plants.

    Mike

We have them in our conservatory at the moment - from compost !

Any suggestion for getting rid of them other than removing all the plants?

(Can't use fly killer sprays due to pets)

    Cheers

  2. My wife had a 2007 ST Fiesta - cracking car, but only did 30 mpg when driven carefully !

She's now got a 2013 ST Fiesta that we had Mountuned (215 bhp) when it was 3 months old and that does a minimum 38 mpg and 44 when on a run.

  3. Why not a 2 minute phone call to GMK for their answer?

Unless they gave me an answer in black and white then I would never trust an answer over the phone.

It's all well and good to say "well such and such said .........." when things go wrong and then be told that that person got it wrong !

I would sooner seek advice from people with experience and knowledge.

  4. Patience is a virtue after all! Took just under 4 months, so not too bad from Cheshire.

Picked up an HMR thumbhole today, then went to zero it in. Really nice to fire a rifle again, because it's been a while. Don't miss the noise from the scattergun at all! I've never used HMR before, and expected it to be a bit louder, but with a whisper mod it's pretty damn quiet by my reckoning. The farmer said he never heard a thing, so bonus. After a bit of faffing about before getting lead on paper, I was clover leafing at about 100 yards, with the expected flyer taking the groups out to about an inch and a half. I am really impressed with the quality of CZ. Hopefully with a bit of practice I'll do it some justice.

Cracking gun the 455 - had mine 2 years and can't fault it, especially for the money !

    Enjoy.

  5. If done properly I haven't seen an adjustable comb devalue a mid or low range gun if anything makes them more saleable but won't add the cost to the value

It would be done properly - I only let Simon at Doveridge work on my shotguns.

Never found fault with his work and he does a cracking job on adjustable comb kit fitting.

    Thanks.

I'm 100% in agreement with HDAV. :good:

    Me too !

  6. I would not think that a stock alteration would affect the guarantee in any way as it dose not affect the working of the gun .May be different if it is one of those plastic things or in the case of an auto were you get a spring housing concealed in the butt, even then it should not .

It's just a Beretta OU so no actual workings to worry about in the stock.

    Cheers.

Check with the importer or at least the gunshop before you get the work done. Could you not live with a slip on raiser or the gel one? It will have more resale value as original than with the comb adjuster.

In theory it shouldn't affect the warranty but if they can wriggle out of something then they usually will.

Yeah, I understand where you are coming from ref wriggling !

As for the gel pad - well I plan to keep the gun so would like something more permanent to last a good few years.

    Cheers.

  7. Hi All,

I need to raise the comb on a new gun - tried with a gel pad raiser and works a treat.

My question is if I pay a very nice man to do a very good job fitting an adjustable comb kit, will the warranty still stand on the rest of the gun. I appreciate that the stock warranty will probably be invalid, but I do have good insurance that would cover any accidental damage to the woodwork.

Many thanks for any advice given or experience.

  8. I bought one just before Christmas - easily picks up a dozen cartridges and for around £25 much cheaper than some of those I looked at - DECOY brand.

    See http://webshop.gun.co.uk/shooting-accessories/shotgun-accessories/decoy-magnetic-cartridge-pick-up-stick.html

One of my friends bought the Seeland pencil type and managed to break it 1st time out (they are telescopic, like a radio aerial and therefore can be fragile if you are a bit hamfisted with them - as he obviously was!!)

Mine's the collapsible walking stick type, pretty sturdy and ideal for finding empties thrown into the nettles by my semi-auto!

    Pleased with it so far

    :good:

Another vote for this one and uncannily my wife bought me one for Xmas.

I still carry my magnetic pick up tool one that I have had for a couple of years, but now when using my semi I take my new one.

    Cheers

  9. I have for sale, in as new condition (used only a couple of times) a Weihrauch HW100 single shot adaptor.

These are used in HFT shooting and the like where you cannot use a multi shot mag.

They are an absolute perfect piece of German engineering and great to use.

The link below is the cheapest I could find -

    Looking for £20 posted.

    Cheers.
