  1. I am very excited about the boar shooting, supposedly they have a real problem with them entering towns as there are so many of them. Yum, I can see an Asterix the Gaul type feast coming on..
  2. Random question. I'm moving to Prague in the next few months and wondered if anybody had any experience shooting woodies there. Clearly Czech is filled to overflowing with boar, deer and driven pheasant shoots however I have heard nothing about the lowly pigeon and whether they have a pest problem as we do here in the UK. I'm wondering as to whether I should hump all my decoying equipment over or simply put it in storage. Anybody got any experience/knowledge of the sport there?
  3. I have always kept my eyes open for birds whilst driving through the countryside and recognising flight lines and numbers etc however it occurs to me that my crop knowledge is completely rubbish. Of course I know what a rape field looks like but if I am really honest much more than that it could be anything. Is there a resource on PW to give a duffers guide to what a field of beans looks like for example, what flower/shape of leaf/Colour one should look for throughout the seasons this would be for all crops that are likely to attract birds. I am sure this would be very helpful to the community as a whole not just this duffer...
  4. Try Toolstation, about £15 for 7AH
  5. Pistolgrip, keeping on plugging. Let the petty bureaucrats fiddle with their rulebooks. Jeeeeeez, God save us from these people.
  6. As title says. Looking to shoot some pigeons. Have all kit, insurance, 30 years SG shooting experience, want to do some hide shooting. More than happy to pay for the opportunity of getting some. Cheers, A
  7. STRETCH, STRETCH, ME SIR,ME SIR!!!! Would love a chance at some fat woodies where do I sign? Thanks, A
  8. Try Elby ( this site), v.close to you. He does charge, but you can have some amazing sport. Good luck
  9. Hi There, got all the kit including a virgin magnet that I really want to try out. Anyone seeing any numbers and would do a man a favour and let him shoot some pigeons. Don't mind paying for a decent day. Cheers Alex
  10. Screwfix is genius, I can now ditch the motorcycle battery I've been carting around all year and not break my back so much....
  11. Wow scoobie007, that is exactly what I was looking for at the same price.... B*gger? So you go to facebook and type in air rifle?? I hate facebook.
  12. Apart from Gun Watch of course, where do you get the most realistic prices for 2nd hand guns? Is it worth buying hard copy publications.? Any thoughts guys?
  13. I've got the police and the banks chasing him down at the moment. Hoping to have some feedback so will let you know. All comments from the authorities seem to suggest that the scammer is a complete moron!!! Can't wait to see what trouble he gets into.
  14. Do not reply to this it is a scam!!!!!!
  15. sorry to sound so ignorant but what is a bullpup?
  16. Herr Plinker, I completely agree with your very eloquent response and I have to say the air arms product just doesn't excite me from a design perspective so it looks like I will have to settle on another. That said the FXS I've seen all seem to be upwards of 800 sheets which frankly well over what I want to spend. 17. That could make a lot of difference I think. There seem to be a good few more of these on the 2nd hand market as well. All the FX Verminators I have seen are around the 7/800 mark which as a first foray I think a bit spenny.
  18. Looked at a you. tube video this morning of the ultra. It seemed quite loud with a standard moderator. Does the barrel come off as well?
  19. looked at the FX verminator, looks great although somewhat stumpy... Does that reduce it's range or effectiveness? Will do some research. The AA I looked at but cant seem to find one 2nd hand at anything like a reasonable starter price for someone that has never had an air rifle before. Thanks for all the input guys though, much appreciated. Shame about the XVI as on a purely aesthetic basis it looked very cool(soo shallow). A
  20. I'm thinking of buying my first PC air rifle for shooting, Pigeons, rabbits etc. I really would like a take down rifle as I would like to transport it without frightening the populous whilst on my motorbike. I have been looking at the Edgar Bros XVI which I really like the look of but have had mixed reports on. I would only buy second hand as I am a cheapskate so looking for reliability as well as accuracy. Cheers, Alex
  21. Hi Guys, Having been told by a number of farms in my surrounding area that there are too many people already shooting the fields I have seen with birds on I thought I would cast my net out wider and see if there was anyone who had any opportunities in the south east of Wales to shoot some pigeon. Quite happy to pay, have all the kit apart from magnet. I can make a mean sandwich and great coffee. Cheers, Alex
  22. Thanks Cranfield et al. I think I willgive it a go and if it fails will take it to the rugby instead. Cheers,
