  1. Hello, I collect antique reloading tools and I could be persuaded to part with a few. If you PM me your email address I will send photos.
  2. Thanks. Hadn't realised it linked to elsewhere. If it was double I'd have gone for it.
  3. I was wondering if anyone has seen any proper reviews of gun safes. There are many on the market and although all should be to British Standard it is obvious that some will be better than others. Before I invest in a new cabinet I'd be interested in the pros and cons of the various makes and the safety and appropriateness of the various locking systems. I like the idea of digital and biometric but are they actually safe if you'll pardon the pun
  4. Hello, I'm expecting to receive my FAC this week and will hopefully be using two HW60Js in .17HMR and .22 next weekend. Obviously this will be my first ammunition purchase. What would you recommend for these rifles? Rabbit control is the aim of the game. In one area I can get close and have to minimise noise (nearby horses) and I am told that there are very low power .22 rounds which would be ideal. But I also have heard that these have a loopy trajectory and a high tendency to ricochet. Do members have experience of this? I expect to buy three hundred of each calibre. What varieties should I try? Many thanks

    FAC AIR RIFLE

I know what you mean. There's something very nice about a good air rifle. Hard to explain really.

    FAC AIR RIFLE

I have a slot on ticket for an FAC air rifle and I am interested in acquiring one in the coming weeks. My thoughts are that it should be a buddy bottle powered rifle with quick fill facility and pressure gauge. It must be .22 and must have right handed or ambidextrous stock. Ideally I want it to come with scope and moderator. It must be in excellent condition and not fooled around with. Bipod already attached would be a bonus. It should be around 30 ft lbs and regulated. Transfer through face to face rather than RFD transfer preferred. I like to see before I buy. My guess is that the following would meet my requirement: Theoben Rapid Mark 2 Air Ranger Air Wolf BSA R2 Mark 2 Do members have any of these gathering dust? I live in the North East but travel to Staffordshire and Surrey regularly for work. Many thanks for your help and feel free to make suggestions of other rifles that would meet my criteria.
  10. In 1994 I was in the gun shop in Blandford and aiming to buy a Webley and Scott 700. I had a choice of two. The one I bought and the one that Jack Hargreaves' widow had put in for sale. I didn't take it because I wanted straight hand stock and his was semi pistol grip. What a fool I was. Imagine having J Hargreaves' side x side in the cabinet.
  11. Hello. I'm interested in the Idleback. Can you please PM me if its still for sale.
  12. Is the cabinet still for sale?
  13. Funnily enough a friend told me earlier this week that there are large numbers just off the M62 near Manchester. He was stuck in traffic and watched them hammering the fields near the motorway. If its any consolation my last 3 days out have resulted in: 1 feral 3 woodies 2 jackdaws 2 Woodies This isn't due to poor shooting. This was all that came to the pattern. In fairness I was able to drive to the hide so there was little physical struggling. Despite these poor days I am undeterred. Its the bad days that make me really appreciate the good ones.
