My son passed his Class 1 in January and the test centre sent off his licence and the pass certificate direct to DVLA or whatever they are called now..
Months later he phoned to check the progress and was told they had no record of it and asked him to send in his pass certificate and once they had that, his licence would be with him "within 3 weeks".
Months later he phoned again and they had lost it again. The smartarse he spoke to said he should have sent it recorded. My son replied "I did. Signed for so-and-so date by so-and-so."
He was put through to a "supervisor" who then emailed some documents for my son to sign electronically and send back, which he did while the supervisor was still on the phone. He agreed he had all he needed, said he would send it for processing right then and my son would get his licence "within 7 days." That was 3 weeks ago.
How can they be so incompetent? 7 months and counting.

I don't understand how she did it. Surely when she arrived at the test centre and showed the other person's provisional licence with someone else's photo on it, alarm bells would be ringing.
If on the other hand she got a load of provisional licences with her photo on, why didn't DVLA notice?

My coterminous tickets don't run out till August and I did my renewal application online on 6th June. FEO has already been round for his visit and a cuppa.
He said to keep my tickets in case I need to buy anything but asked if I could post them or drop them off to HQ 1st week of August which seems fair enough as I pass there most days anyway.
I've never had anything but good service from them.

Did they look like psychos? Is that what they looked like? They were vampires. Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a **** how crazy they are!

I had an alarm system fitted by PES Fire & Security systems in Swansea. Not as expensive as you might think.

I like them a lot!

Wait for dawn to come and then cut his living heart out, and, whilst it is still beating, offer it up the Gods as appeasement. That usually sorts it. There's always a simple solution to any problem to be found here on P/W. Let me know how you got on and if it resolved the matter. And as for Dawn she probably won't be too happy but she's usually hard to please anyway. You can't keep everyone smiling all of the time.
Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind.

Does anyone believe a person can be a jinx?
A mate of mine comes to stay with us a couple of times a year and without fail something always goes wrong a few days before his arrival.
This has included:
The central heating programmer packing up while it was snowing outside.
Utility room roof blowing off.
My wife's polytunnel blowing away (2 occasions).
The pressure tank for our water bursting its bladder.
He came to visit us 2 Saturdays ago and on the Friday my wife noticed an oil smell from our heating oil tank and I noticed a split in the plastic. As they can't install single skin tanks here any more and they need a specific size and thickness of base it's costing the thick end of £4k to get it fixed. That's on top of the £300 emergency call out to get the tank drained.
And a decent size tree fell over into the steam while he was actually here.
We used to joke about it, but now it seems like it's really a thing.
On the bright side my house is getting replaced visit by visit.

I used to work with the guy who murdered prostitutes and buried their heads at Wisley. First we knew about it was when the News of the World called my boss asking about him after he'd been arrested.

Cheers Bob. Last pic isn't mine. We just have the one solitary poppy.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm leaning towards Welsh Poppy. I'll have a close look later. Thanks.

It's about 4" across.

Another yellow flower. Found this growing down by the dustbins. Any ideas what it is?
-
No. It'll be fine.

Aquilegia, aka columbine.
Possibly Aquilegia chrysantha by the looks of it.
That's the one. Thank you. 👍

Can someone please ID the yellow flowers in this photo? Thanks

Looks more like soldering or brazing.

I don't understand why they specify an amount. I saw one the other night for £27. If I had a spare £20 I wanted to give to charity and saw this, would I try to find the extra £7 or just give my £20 to another charity instead? Surely £20 is better than £0.

call me strange but i do like to see nice and neat and tidy...clear as you go..........nice pic
Nothing strange about that. I can't abide working in a mess. It would be tidier than this by now, but rain stopped play yesterday.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to give it some nutrients and leave it as is and see what happens.
