In the Great old days you had to make your own Sling/Catapult as there were no one selling them anywhere in our area in the 60,s we used to cut a Y piece from an hazel nut tree then slit some bicycle inner tube with a sharp knife for the sling Then cut a piece of leather from an old bag or boot to form the projectile holder and hey presto we had an instant Sling made up in a short time,Cats on my fathers garden used to hate my old marbles I mostly used mine with a group of friends shooting at cans and bottles,This at the time Was much better than watching black and white TV or listening to the Wireless.!! Has anyone on here tried or own the new Hatsan Galatian PCP?already having the BT65 and the AT44 I am thinking of getting one in the near future but would like some positive/Negative feedback prior to purchasing, thanks BR Mal

I have had the BT65 RB in .177 for a while now and it's extremely accurate but a tad on the heavy side but to get around this I use a bipod and shooting sticks when out night stalking with my NS200(nite vision) I am getting 45 shots at 190-120 per refill which is pretty good...go higher than 190 and you start to lose the accuracy.Clean head shots are taken at 35-45 yards depending on weather conditions of course. tremendous value for money IMO ATB Mal

Hi There I have been enjoying all types of country persuits since I were a 5 year old and holding FAC and SGL since 1978 but last year my doc Put me on Cipramil for what he called "anxiety attacks" so,I called my FEO for a chat and to ask him what he thought about the treatment and he immediately recommended I send my FAC and SGL back voluntarily asap!!but then when I finish my treatment I should apply for them again,my doc has recently reduced my dosage and says I should be ok to apply in the next 4-6 months he also stressed that Anxiety is not depression but the "Mental stigma"will always stick when anti-depressants are mentioned.I miss my hobby so much and now live in hope however,my son has his certificates and I tag along with him but it's not the same as I can only go when he has time off work...Will keep you posted as to what happens. Bold Fox problem - Your thoughts?

Hope your Darling gets well soon however,IMO its snaring that would do the trick especially as these guys are very regular visitors to the permission, can you ask about, maybe someone more local has the knowledge to set the snares correctly and check them at the legal intervals,i would definitely snare the runs in and around the immediate area, just a shame you weren't another 200miles down South Matey,ATBMal -
IMO You have made a wise decision my friend,my AT44 .22 also has the synthetic as well as a wooden stock,it's lovely and light to carry about in the synthetic and surprisingly quiet with a Deben silencer, don't scrimp on the scopes though, pay a bit extra and get a decent one,as for pellets go for AA Fields or JSB Exacts, they suit my barrels and give excellent groupings out to 40-45yds when zeroed in at 25-30yds.Good luck ATB CHM

Line the inside with silicone and cork tiles then drill about 6 x 10mm holes horizontally in the top or top side of the cabinet to allow the cabinet to breathe, you won't get another drip of condensation trust me I keep my guns in the attic too, with now more condensation. ATB CHM

Welshwizard if you lived in Pencoed,I used to have all the shooting rights to Coed y Mwstwr Farm then owned by Watkin Leyshon it's the land whereas if you come onto the M4 Jct 35 West and you look upto your left you see a band of woodland about 40acres or so it's where King Arthur was alledged to be buried in the caves there(pot holers paradise)we bred pheasants there too,two of my mates still have the rights now but the farm is now under both son in laws Neil and Jeff,i also shot at Mal Summers farm (poor chap lost his wife last year)over the years, good ground up there had some realy good results every time we went, wether it be with the dogs or after roosting pigeons....Just hope you weren't the poacher I fought with on an early frosty January morning .lol.!But thats another story..!ATB Mal long

Well well well...I grew up with Tom Richards and his brother Dilwyn on Cwmrisca, baling the hay etc etc and still shoot the Llangynwyd mountains as I am very friendly with all the farmers who,s grounds meet up at the mountains I'm sure you must know where I am talking about, there as always been numerous hares up there but their numbers took a nose dive some 15-20 years ago but I am happy to say that they are now flourishing albeit so are the poachers.!!!Talking about wildlife, the Red Kites have now also settled in at the woodland in the valley owned by Cwmrisca and they are being watched regularly by a group of twitchers who I got chatting to whilst out walking with the dogs, there are also a number of Deer who,s numbers have realy increased over the years, all the old guys I knew dont stalk them anymore, maybe it's an old age thing. I can tell you something that you would find hard to believe......do you remember that clip on the welsh news about an eagle being spotted in the Llynfi valley and surrounding areas?well, whilst spending an early evening in the wooded valley at Cwmrisca with my new spaniel pup,I sat under an overhanging Oaktree on the edge of the wood enjoying the tranquil sounds of the surrounding bird singing when all of a sudden I could hear this Buzzard going ape**** and the squalling seemed to be getting loader and closer anyway something caught the corner of my eye and I turned to look and there not 5 metres away was the big Eagle sat on a branch looking around him,I kept as quiet as I could enjoying his company when the Buzzard swooped it and it flew off,I went up to the spot several times a week for a month and the Eagle was nowhere to be seen,I often wonder what happened to it.Anyway that's enough from me although I could go on forever it seems lol.!We may have met over the years..did you know Alan Howe and Denver Thomson? both committed shooters years ago and good friends of mine. i think it's a case of " each to their own" most Hatsan owners have not handled the AA series and vice versa otherwise we could go on and on " how longs a piece of string?"let's agree to disagree and move on hey and move on.....end of. ATB CHM
