well done again pc. the late archie coates would be proud of you mate
recently had a small field of barley with pigeons pouring onto it. couldn't shoot it because of horse livery next door
very frustrating. are you having a good year so far or is this average

Ah cool, my error. Hope it lasts though mate, keep your receipt just incase it needs to go back. I've had plenty of Landy's and some of the Britpart parts quality have been a bit poor.
Jonathan
cheers mate, hopefully it will last! i kept my receipt and the guy i bought it from is very reputable. he worked as a parts manager for landrover for many years, and nows runs his own landy parts business. hopefully it will be ok.

£200 notes does seem steep mind for a used one.
Jonathan
it was anew one mate. an aftermarket made by britpart

Youre possibly lucky they didnt take the Cat Converter at the same time, at work we had 3 taken from Ford Rangers in two nights in three seperate locations and over 40 miles apart. They were not cheap to replace.
not suprised you mentioned the cat. the copper who came to investigate said they spend a lot time each week dealing with stolen cat converters. mercedes sprinters seem to be popular round here.

well done mate, you handled the situation proffesionally. the cops have to be seen to respond to such complaints. having your certificates and everthing in order justifys your reason for being there.

:s how do I put this......
I'm a rifle shooter, even competed internationally!
But
I'm not so good with a shotgun, I've had them for the last 10yrs or so and I have good days (rarely) and bad days, I've spent some time on the clays and done reasonable, I've read books and put lots of lead down several barrels but I just don't seem to be improving really. To be honest, I'm considering paying to go to a fully blown shooting school (as opposed to lessons at a clay ground) but I'm sure 10yrs worth of bad habits is going to be a nightmare to break!
What would you suggest and why?
a lesson with a coach is not a bad idea. rifle and shotgun shooting are worlds apart. try to point the shotgun rather than aim it like a rifle. make sure when you mount and point the shotgun that your eye looks down the rib and lines up with the bead. swing through the target from behind. as you pass the front or beak of the target pull the trigger but keep the gun moving. try to keep both eyes open as this will improve your field of vision. range an lead etc is dependant on the range and speed of the target. practice on the clays and get a lesson or two if you can

good shooting mate, well done

Just out of curiosity you have not done anything to upset someone as it sounds like a fun way to get your own back on someone who has done something that really peed me off I must confess that I have thought about doing something like this but did not have the guts to do it.
:good:
the thought did cross my mind mate, but when i discovered a new propshaft from landrover was £400 i guess there lays the answer
. i will wait up for a while tonight and if there stupid enough to come back i will show them a fun way to get your own back
-
It is a Landrover, it probably fell off the last time you went out
lol
most of the bits do fall off! this bit was too heavy though would of heard the bang if it fell off.
If its a 200 or 300 I have a spare you could have had,
or is it one of them fancy twin coupled td5 ones?
yes mate it's the td5 front one with twin couple. none been broken up here yet

I would change some of the bolts to Alan key and some to star drive
At least it would make it harder to take off.
good idea that mate. someone else suggested tack welding the jointing flanges of the shaft. just to slow them down and give the dog chance to check them out. too late now though they got there propshaft
i bet the culprits drive transits that run on red diesel and tether horses anywhere and have under fed running dogs etc. you find these whether you are north, south east or west. :(
-
woke this morning to find that my ladrover disovery would not go anwhere! could select gears ok but no drive. had a look underneath and to my disbeleif some cheeky ******* had knicked my front propshaft :o the car is parked on my front driveway just outside my front window. somebody had laid underneath the vehicle, udone eight nuts and bolts and removed the propshaft.
after ringing around i found a new one from landrover was £400 :o i managed to find one for £200 and fitted it myself. to say i'm angry is an understatement
£200 would have bought 1000 cartridges or anything else for that matter. i reported it to the cops but they said there was little they could do
. probably pointless posting here but it helps to get it off my chest. if any of you lads from east yorkshire know anything about my propshaft please feel free to pm me. atb aga man

poor animal. such a terrible way to die :(

it's to do with the birds feet i think. they appear to have two fingers :look:
-
if all else fails it might be an idea to write to sporting gun or one of the other shooting mags explaining the situation etc.just a thought. they seem to shout a bit louder than we do!

Nah, I didn't in the end, the Mrs found out that I had some cashe saved up so now we're going abroad and the sxs will have to wait
I have a tidy over and under to use on game, but couldn't live without a sami auto. First choice when it comes to vermin and goose bashing.
good all round gun the semi auto mate. i have the hatsan like yourself. i've sen the benneli on the youtube vids and looks the dogs
about £1200 cheapest though i think
-
some people complain of the kick on a benneli. i f had the coin i would have one
not really had any experience though, just like the look of them. did you not get yourself a sxs yet hedd?

How to shoot this field?
in Talk From The Field

difficult to say fela. depends a lot on the wind and pigeon movement. i would be tempted to shoot with my back to the footpath ie along the wood edge. i would make sure there are no pheasant pens in the woods and speak to any householders you are firing towards. speak to them and let them know what you are doing![:good:](https://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_good.gif.pagespeed.ce.PoYRIVsMjL.gif)
