squirrelhunter replied to squirrelhunter's topic in Off Topic
Yes i wouldnt use it on your local's dartboard but a bit of wood in the garden is just as good! -
I have recently purchased a blazing arrow throwing knife! Great fun! I suggest you all go and get yourselves one, its better than darts and much harder!

Do hunters see killing as the easy option?
squirrelhunter replied to squirrelhunter's topic in Off Topic
Yes I agree, and by they're very actions they surrender the right to be called "Hunters" and are indeed thugs. -
Now up until recently i thought that hunting animals had no effect on a hunters respect for other living creatures but recent posts and experience seems to point to me that the power to take life has gone to some peoples heads. The recent "Ferret" incident and the views of some of my less than desirable friends at home, seems to indicate that hunting has a negative effect on weak mined and irresponsible people. Killing to get rid of "problem" animals and pets is becoming far to common and executed with an erie sense of enjoyment for the death and pain of a creature. Pest hunting should be enjoyed for being outdoors and the skill needed to bring down animals like pigeons. Not for the death of the creature. Ive heard nasty tales emerging of some new and younger hunters filling rabbits up with shot after shot of air pellets with no intention of giving a clean kill. This blasay attitude has to life has to stop. Creatures have feelings to. Some hunters need to think before they shoot, and should have more respect for their quarry and animals in general. If they dont then they should surrender their guns.

You have to couple over penetration with penetration for pigeons. Idealy you want a lung to heart penetration for your pigeon, but i have found that the hobby pellets do not even get past the breast meat, adding fuel to the myths that pigeons are "armour plated". Every .177 point ive tried has over penetrated unless it has met with some serious bone. Any hollow points i find to be a good medium. I use H+N Hollows. For squirrels you can use anything if its a head shot. You'l kill with a quick hemerage if not by penetrating the skull.

Clumps of dried tistle are the ones that get me, they look a lot like errect rabbit ears and heads in certain positions.

It depends on the context of "***", Im sure he meant the word "***" from the "hob ***" vairety of nobs, which are indeed a very tasty snack and so he is actualy complimenting the "nobs"

Heres a picture, taken 4 years ago at the area dressage competition. The pony im on is called Temple Driud and he was just about the fittest pony or horse i have ever ridden out hunting, he lived on adrenaline and would pull you round all day non-stop. This had both its advantages and disadvantages

North Ledbury Prancing Pony/ Red Lion pubs (either side of the road), Stiffords Bridge, Storridge, Nr. Malvern That was my local one but due to family and relatives coming over i couldnt go . Went the week before and enjoyed a surprise late kill. Saturday was very enjoyable with some good gallops across some very dodgy terrain. A few jumps aswell which not everyone could get over , it was nice for me and Ella to show 'em how its done . There was a bit too much road running for my liking. No fox aswell, a pattern which is reoccurring too many times this season.
