  1. Lol! The tone of this thread has gone up and down like a yo-yo....do we like this guy or not?
  2. Well i wouldnt want to work you as hard as crow-misser DA but if you have some spare time and a charitable heart i wouldnt mind a squirrel in some cross hairs? Many thanks, SH.
  3. Yes i wouldnt use it on your local's dartboard but a bit of wood in the garden is just as good!
  4. I have recently purchased a blazing arrow throwing knife! Great fun! I suggest you all go and get yourselves one, its better than darts and much harder!
  5. Go for german camoflage (im wearing some now.) www.flecktarn.co.uk,its great cheap friendly, £10 for a pair of trousers and shirt (used condition) great stuff!!!! The parka's are great aswell!
  6. Sorry to hear that , hope she recovers one way or another.
  7. You need to make the penguin bounce and slide to get max points (1212.9) so far.....
  8. Yes I agree, and by they're very actions they surrender the right to be called "Hunters" and are indeed thugs.
  9. Now up until recently i thought that hunting animals had no effect on a hunters respect for other living creatures but recent posts and experience seems to point to me that the power to take life has gone to some peoples heads. The recent "Ferret" incident and the views of some of my less than desirable friends at home, seems to indicate that hunting has a negative effect on weak mined and irresponsible people. Killing to get rid of "problem" animals and pets is becoming far to common and executed with an erie sense of enjoyment for the death and pain of a creature. Pest hunting should be enjoyed for being outdoors and the skill needed to bring down animals like pigeons. Not for the death of the creature. Ive heard nasty tales emerging of some new and younger hunters filling rabbits up with shot after shot of air pellets with no intention of giving a clean kill. This blasay attitude has to life has to stop. Creatures have feelings to. Some hunters need to think before they shoot, and should have more respect for their quarry and animals in general. If they dont then they should surrender their guns.
  10. You have to couple over penetration with penetration for pigeons. Idealy you want a lung to heart penetration for your pigeon, but i have found that the hobby pellets do not even get past the breast meat, adding fuel to the myths that pigeons are "armour plated". Every .177 point ive tried has over penetrated unless it has met with some serious bone. Any hollow points i find to be a good medium. I use H+N Hollows. For squirrels you can use anything if its a head shot. You'l kill with a quick hemerage if not by penetrating the skull.
  11. Clumps of dried tistle are the ones that get me, they look a lot like errect rabbit ears and heads in certain positions.
  12. It depends on the context of "***", Im sure he meant the word "***" from the "hob ***" vairety of nobs, which are indeed a very tasty snack and so he is actualy complimenting the "nobs"
  13. Heres a picture, taken 4 years ago at the area dressage competition. The pony im on is called Temple Driud and he was just about the fittest pony or horse i have ever ridden out hunting, he lived on adrenaline and would pull you round all day non-stop. This had both its advantages and disadvantages
  14. North Ledbury Prancing Pony/ Red Lion pubs (either side of the road), Stiffords Bridge, Storridge, Nr. Malvern That was my local one but due to family and relatives coming over i couldnt go . Went the week before and enjoyed a surprise late kill. Saturday was very enjoyable with some good gallops across some very dodgy terrain. A few jumps aswell which not everyone could get over , it was nice for me and Ella to show 'em how its done . There was a bit too much road running for my liking. No fox aswell, a pattern which is reoccurring too many times this season.
  15. I live on the edge of a wood, two miles from the nearest service (P.O) and 3 miles from the neares P.H. Im in the sticks good and proper!
  16. WASPS STINK! I remember the days when i used to get tight inch groups at 30 meters with my .177 on WASPS now the groups are more like 5 inches and out of 500 pellets more than 50 were deformed and 30 of tose were seriously ****....they didnt even look like pellets. WASPS.......Never again!
  17. Frank M8 there isnt a single person on these forums that thinks our current laws are fair to shooters, however the only way to hold on to our guns is by the responsible and law abidding use of them. Once the responsible shooters and hunters disregard the law that really will be the end of shooting in the U.K.
  18. Dear oh Dear Santa should know better, Firearms and alcohol never mix, but then again i dont suppose 6 billion sherries does much for your sleigh driving either....
  19. You have to understand that having shooting land is like having a little sister, you dont want anyone else to touch her...............except yourself ofcourse
  20. I have heard of a couple of pigeon shooters having an armed response unit called out because some townie has seen a 'person with a shotgun' and assumed that because all his neighbours are gun wielding gangsta's the bloke in the field must be one too. A road shouldnt be too bad as the cars are going quickly, if it was by a footpath you may have more trouble but 99.9% of the time youl be fine......P.S Sundays is townie tourist day in the countryside.
  21. As i said in another post kepp us all informed of any developments, maybe an apology from Mattned wouldnt go amiss either, i fear the time to say sorry has already passed.
  22. The gun is very new, i reckon it was the gun shop that put the extra oil in as my m8 doesnt clean it, il ask him if its still doing it now his barrel's dry and rusty...
  23. My mates air arms air rifle keeps sparking up, every fith or sixth shot, theres a massive bang and the flash is similar to that of an m16 without a flash hider. I dont know why it happens.
