Do not buy an obsolete gun ! get one that is still current which are tried and tested MIroku/Browning or Berretta . Avoid all else and defiantly do not buy any gun branded "classic" or made in Turkey . At the moment there is aglut of second hand guns and with new modles coming out this will force down the price of older [10 /15 years ] . Looking at the worst case scenario and you have a break down ,an extractor for example , if you can not pick up a phone and get spares now what will you do in 5 years time .

Stock and forend don't match on the posted pictures . So which is not original ?That ought to lower the asking price .

Problem with hot caustic blacking is that if the salts get between the ribs it is very difficult to get them out . This can result in the salts weeping out over time .It is not nice stuff that burns skin and rots wood .
-
I should have added that most shops will farm them out so there is there mark up to consider .

Its not the always actual screw cutting although you do need to have lager enough lathe ,it is often the time taken to strip the rifle down and reassemble .Plus the time spent on booking in and out and time spent with the customer .All adds up . As far as I am concerned proof is optional as long as it is understood that it could be an issue .

It really dose not matter what gun you have blacking costs the same if you want a decent job doing .

If its a Birmingham made BSA and in good condition then its worth buying at the right price ,that will depend on several things and will need checking for proof etc . If memory serves they stopped building them in the late fifties or early sixties . The Luarona SxS was not a bad gun but wants to be cheap .

The revo brand is new ive heard good things about them but never shot one my self and are very cheap new just something to look at cheers .

Come out of the same stable as the Khan guns . I would recommend a Khan to my worst enemy !

How you do it will depend on how much you need to lengthen it .If its under an inch a solid silvers type pad will look OK and be in keeping any other pad will look awful . Over that use wood as a black ebonite pad will not look good either .Probably difficult to get a god match for an extension piece so go for colour match and grain density and it will look OK .

Theres a place at Cannock I think its called Finishing Supplies .Will check and correct if needs.

Hello to one and all . I am not a shooter but have been involved with the gun trade for a long time so I do know a bit about things and may be able to offer a little advice now and again in that area .

I have come across this before . Could it be that when you open the top lever you are pushing or catching the selector with the heel of your thumb ? If the selector spring has weakened over time then it may not require much to push it across.
Browning B26 Problem
in Guns & Equipment

There are no spares for the B26 from Browning . It could be the cases jamming in the chamber s . Do you have the same problem with different cartridges ? Have you tried with longer or shorter brass heads ? Seen a few guns that will eject one case well but struggles with others .
