  2. brilliant! thanks for the info,so there is no chance of ruining the barrels with steel carts then? i will be using 24g carts and the barrels are both cylinder.
  3. hi all, i,ve just purchased a nikko 5000ii skeet barreled o/u. does anyone know if i can use steel carts in this gun, there is "nikko steel" stamped on the barrels but i,m not sure if this means i can use steel carts or if it,s a manufacturer grade of steel they use to make the barrels. the last owner had,nt a clue and neither have I, advice most welcome, thanks.
  4. sounds spot on,it has a plain action with just the name Dan Arms engraved on it, The barrels are 27.5 inches long. really is a nice gun for clays, sorry unable to put photos on.
  5. Hi, all, i,ve just bought a DAN-ARMS o/u 12g both barrels cylinder @£200. it,s a great little clay gun but there does,nt seem to be a lot of info on these guns, they are pretty bland looking but neat and the second barrel is cocked from the recoil of the first barrel when fired, bit like a mechanical trigger.does anyone have any info on these guns please?
  6. thanks for the offer buddy but a bit far away i,m in notts.but i am going for a coached lesson and see what i can improve on
  7. lots of usefull info, thanks guys, to answer a few questions, the choke was cylinder, the pattern seems spot on, perhaps it is the gun fit but it feels ok. i,ve decided to have a coaching lesson before i make up my mind, thanks for the offer welshwarrior but a bit far away, again thankyou all for the input.
  8. hi guys, i,ve only been shooting clays for about 12 months. i have a Breda semi long recoil which i get on with ok, also a Lanber o/u which i don,t do to bad with, thing is i,ve just invested in a brand new ATA semi auto synthetic and can,t hit a damn thing,it,s the green model 12g auto.i,ve taken it out six times along with my other guns but can,t seem to get along with it at all. i think it may be i like heavier guns, i wish i,d had invested in a decent s/h gun.any advice would be most welcome.next step get rid.
  9. hi all, does anyone have any info on the Rottweil semi auto shotguns? i can,t seem to find any reviews online and i,m thinking of buying one. it does,nt look a bad made gun but i,m new so know practically nothing, thanks all.
  10. hi all, feel better now i,ve read this topic, i,m new to clays so after a days shoot and finishing up standing in a 4foot pile of empty carts and all clays released still intact i had a really enjoyable day. Now looking forward to the next barrage.lol.

  14. hi all, i.ve just purchased a HW90,it,s got a nikko stirling 4-12-40 gold crown scope but when i look through the scope it has the normal crosshair but just above the horizontal hair there is another hair line just above, does anyone know the purpose of this second line( and no i ,ve not had a pint)
  15. thanks,that,s a bit of handy info,
  16. hi all, just aquired a Browning A5 semi auto 3 shot 12g for£180.00 old but in good condition, would have been nice in a 16g but these seem a bit rare as i like 16g guns better, has anyone got any tips/views on these old guns,i,ve not tried it yet.
  17. i have got a RFD close to me whose the same, i buy all my carts from him and had a couple of guns transfered to him @£25 a time, but when i asked if he would accept a 12g and a little cooey 410 as a one parcel he wanted £60, which is a bit unreasonable i think for a regular customer.
