Damn it , i chucked mine away , didnt think anyone would want it
-
i,d like to learn to weld too , just for my self , car repairs etc .
what would be the best kit to buy for beginners
-
right found it using a mirror and torch
well it looks like the caseing where the waterpump attaches too right at the very top, but not i dont think the actual pump its self.
i think you call it a crank case or timing case gasket , i could be wrong and god i hope i am .
it got wet on the back side of the pump but further back than the edge of the pump casing.
dont suppose anyones done anything like this on a trooper

Found one myself! Worth all of £1 on fleabay
really - i,ve got half a dozen , off to e-bay then

good link -- i use semi syn in this , but it was pretty thick stuff i took out ( previous owner said it was 15w 40 ) a bit sludgey in fact, i replaced it with GTX 10w 40 part syn ( as recommended ) it seemed a bit thinner and then oil leaks started .
-
Worth a go ... if it works, it usually lasts 12/18 months'ish
have you used mate
Works well on slight leaks & is a lasting repair in my experience.
Drut - what did you use it in
-
-
well whats the going rate for replaceing a rear crank seal
-
how much do you want to pay ?
-
heres another question
anyone ever used wynns stop leak or similar for engine oil leaks , thinking rear crank seal may have gone
-
was hoping water pump but its dripping on the back of the caseing not down the front where you would think if it was water pump.
it only drips when the engine is warm / hot but soon as turned off it starts , while engine is running its holding - strange , i just cant tell for sure where its from , i,ll probabley have to start stripping it down just to find the damn thing
-
right - got a slight leak on my trooper 3.1, but only when i turn the engine off , i cant identifiy where its coming from accept its in the direction of the front of the head , theres lots of pipe there etc so really can see.
only leaks when engine warm and turned off , no other symptoms as yet , thats why i was asking , running and starting ok .
i thought i saw a few bubbles in the header tank , but after looking again on various occasions nothing . it is only a singel pipe header like a rad overflow.

A black adder spotted near me at cotgrave country park notts yesterday , was warning dog walkers on face book about it
-
what would be the symptoms of diesel head gasket failure if any , if it failed only in a small area
-
the gun dog side of the show is the only reason i would want to go , but not now , shame
-
got a trooper 3.1
i,ve got a noise that only appears when the engine is fully warmed up like a tock rather than a tap.
you can hear it at tickover when stationary when warm , but its also there and louder when driven , and seems to follow the revs up and down you can hear it change tone as you go on and off the accelerator as you change through the gears . its definately engine as it does it when stationary as well
as i said its not there when engine cold or first driven until temp gauge goes up to normal position then it starts to appear
any ideas thanks

out of all the off the shelf makes that are available for joe public to buy , which is the best?
-
OMG that is very sad news
think most of us have grown up watching him over the years , loved his weird sense of humour
how did it happen

+1. Brilliant stuff. I think it's still available from Amazon in liquid form. The powder version had an anti fire depressant added because of it's explosive qualities.
this was the best stuff i ever used , we used to get it from wilko's

i would do a pic if i could , anyway stampings are :- 17-994 - 1993 - with an arrow shape
ok just had a look on the net - it says british army / MOD pattern , i beleive the martindale as a croc on it .
so it is a pattern , i thought 1993 was the issue date
anyway still here
-
cavas sheath , no make on it , just numbers and ^^ signs , sorry cant do a pick , but its same as on net

what an excellent link , very well explained
is this type of thing only seen in pups or very young
Apache -- one of my dogs is doing similar thing , a little hop , now and then ,and sometimes looks akward going up steps. then she looks fine for a while .
i noticed a few times while she was eating she had the rear leg slightly outward.
i have massaged it etc , put her on joint aid and rested her , stopped her from jumping up .
she seems ok at the mo , but i,m guessing it will return as its not the first time .
i hope to god its not the start of cruicate problems .
my other bitch as had both legs done tpo or something like that , the vet who did the ops said theres not a lot you can do once its started to go.
Apache - what do think would be the best thin to do
thank you
