  1. This doesnt surprise me in the slightest. The RSPCA are a totally messed up organisation. Im surprised they still have their "charitable" status after all the extreme stuff they do; the charity commission could have stripped them of their status, then they would have crashed and burned!
  2. BMI is a totally flawed measurement. It doesnt take into account bodyfat. so a 6ft4 guy that is very strong and muscly would be considered clinically obese because muscle weighs a lot more than fat. (knowledge from doing a PhD in upper GI medical devices with gastroenterologists)
  3. Agreed. You always get fad diets which make the inventor quite a lot of money, but then they are replace with something else, for the simple reason they dont work long term and are often bad for our health!!) how many times have people gone on a diet by cutting out a certain food group, only to put most of the weight back on when they reach their weight and start eating said food again? this is natural, because the body craves food it doesnt have and compensates after food group starvation by storing a lot of it! As mentioned above, healthy (tasty) balanced diet, with minimal processed foods, and a good amount of exercise will get you low and staying low (albeit slower, but permanently!). Also, dont go to a nutritionist, they are not trained in any way (that matters, see Gillian Mckeath and her purchased online PhD. anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, both you and I could operate as one right now), you want a dietician, they are specially trained by qualified and accredited groups and work for the NHS. the NHS website actually has lots of good info on loosing weight healthily! Hope this helps, even if it not what you want to hear!
  4. I have a feeling it isn't permitted in the uk (with diving gear that it), if it isnt illegal, it is certainly very frowned upon, considering you have a huge advantage! It can be fun, I go snorkelling round kelpy/rocky shallows (up to 3m deep) in the UK, occasionally spot a bass etc, but as others have said, its tricky to get close enough, fun though!
  5. haha sounds great, share a pic of it with us if you have time please! Looks very impressive. do you know how much it cost you roughly? (including battery motor, parts etc) sometimes i consider building one but dont know how much of a saving it would be (I know you do it for the fun too).
  6. well I did shoot competition small bore, and got RAF marksman accreditation, (im really not big headed, just explaining my confidence in the shot) and I also waited for the head to stop moving. Springers can be as accurate and powerful as pcps, its the user who is often the limiting factor.
  7. I eliminated a crow at 55 yards at the weekend using domed pellets and the HW97K (untuned). headshot at that range shows how good it is!
  8. Hi guys, im looking to buy a kit of pigeon decoys, hide, seat, magnet etc, for a good price. im near monmouth but can travel a bit. any offers?
  9. I just watched a video on youtube, where a guy removed one in about 2 seconds with a screwdriver... a limit of the way the ratchet mechanism works. Waste of money it look like.
  10. I have always thought that leaving a shotgun in a car in between drives etc is a bad idea, esp when you often have cartridges nearby too. Therefore, I thought about using a trigger lock when leaving it for any length of time. Are they worth buying?
  11. Got some Dickies Combat trousers, 36" waist, no other measurements given. tried them on as they were only £15 quid, and they fitted fine. They are black so will br pretty warm in this heat, but for that money, you cant complain! (even though I probably will!) Will see how we get on, thanks guys!
  12. Hi PWs, is there anywhere out there that any knows of that I can get some cheap and hardwearing trousers for rough work (strimming, pen building etc) that will stand up to wear. Ideally in bristol or south wales. Also, if anyone knows of any that come in 35 or 36 inch inside leg, that would be amazing! (I had some great soldier 95 trousers, but no more) Thanks in advance!
  13. 12-20 decoys sounds expensive from what i have seen, does anyone have any good places to get them cheap? ive seen them for like £5 each in local shops, perhaps ebay? any ideas? (likewise the netting and poles)
  14. I am soon to start decoying pigeons and crows, what is the essential kit that is a MUST buy? (not including gun and cartridges). So far I have a dpm jacket and gloves. For a hide, I used to just use branches/foliage as they seem more natural, what stuff do i need and what stuff can i get away with (and what stuff is a waste of money). Thanks in advance!
