The coach I used last time actually buttoned on the last round of skeet I shot.....he said the best thing to do for now is to just get out and shoot.....plenty of practice and it should correct it's self

I never thought of shooting gun down and makes perfect sense
-
I have a 30" silver pigeon....I'm just average height and weight
-
I'm based in Nottingham.....I think it is slightly high but only going by what was said in my lesson. I don't wear a baseball cap....I'm going to try the £1 coin placement and then see how much of the bead I'm seeing. He did say without the raiser for a normal person the sight picture would be ok but with me lifting my head he said although I may be seeing more rib than normal it would help with the head lifting situation

I have been shooting for about 1 1/2 years only really shot skeet.....done 50 bird sporting probably 3 or 4 times.....now I'm using the comb raiser I'm seeing quite allot of rib.....what is ESP?. I have tried dry mounting tonight and really pushing my cheek down to the point it's almost hurting

What do you mean by "fly your right elbow"?....I was told to lower my right elbow as I previously had it raised which was causing me to tilt the gun
-
I'm right handed and fully right eye dominant......was also told to shoot both eyes open
-
How will shooting gun down help?.....I have only ever shot with the gun mounted
-
I seem to have got into a horrible habit of lifting my head....had a lesson where it was spotted that I was doing it. During the lesson we fitted a comb raiser and I was doing ok. A week later on a round of skeet I shot 20 still using the comb raiser (about average) and then last night I did absolutely terrible. Again still with the comb raiser on I was told I was lifting my head.....really wondering if this is for me

I think I will do....he was an ace coach. I wanted to book a succession of lessons to get me up to speed again I just hope he's still doing coaching
-
Where does joe shoot and how do I get in contact?
-
Maybe it's just me being tight then...probably why I shoot as bad as what I do.....anyone have any recommendations for around nottingham?
-
Hopefully shotgun coaching lol he was spot on

Can't see them getting many people into shooting at those prices...is rob still there?
-
Does anyone know if Rob still gives lessons at Orston Shooting Ground?....having not shot much since Christmas through having a child I thought of getting some lessons at Orston Shooting Ground with Rob again just to bring me back up to speed. Had lessons with him in the past and thought he was a brilliant coach but having looked quickly on the website it would seem that they have been taken over. Does anyone know if he is still giving lessons anywhere? used other coaches in the past but he's certainly been the best

I normally shoot once a week anyway just thought it would be another way of practicing as well as just mounting the gun at home
-
Having thought about different ways of practicing away from the range I thought I could possibly make use of the large projector screen at work a couple of nights a week. I have been looking through the net and come across the Shotkam videos on YouTube....I thought it would be a perfect way of getting used to seeing the targets on each station at skeet....mounting the gun as I would do normally....good or bad idea?
-
I'm going to give East Midlands shooting ground a try.....it's only about 15 mins away from me can't believe I didn't know it existed. I'm just hoping they have some of those jumbo extra large clays for me to try and hit
-
Has any one been to the Horton clay club.....from the website it says they do a 30 bird sporting shoot every other week
-
kinda kicking myself for not going now....instead just went home. Does it get as busy as what nottingham gun club does?
-
Thought I would pop up to nottingham gun club today for a quick shoot...it was absolutely rammed. With me shooting on my own allot of the time I don't like it when it's too busy. Was going to pop over to cocketts farm but with never going before I thought it was a little cheeky. Does anyone know of any small shoots that happen around Nottingham. I'm not an over serious shooter I just enjoy getting out with my gun. I either do skeet or sometimes sporting

Should be in a Christmas card that
-
Yes maybe a few sessions with a coach would do me good

Having a real torid time of late with skeet to the point that I'm ready to give it up. No matter how hard I try I'm just not getting it. At best I'm getting 20 but I have tried sporting now 3 times and getting 28 out of 50 which I'm rather chuffed with. I know it's not the best score but it's so much more fun than skeet....my question is though if I'm rubbish at skeet am I ever going to get to grips with sporting?

I'm going to have another practice tomorrow and just concentrate on keeping my head firmly on the stock and watching the target all the way through....give it another go and see what happens....do you think it's worth going back to the sleet field or trying it on sporting?
