  1. This scope will be fine on your rimmy mate ! I think Hawke scopes are excellent value for the money ! They are doing a deal at Cheshire guns Stockport at the moment £ 120 for the 4x12 x50 Hawke IR / EV panarama scope ! I have that on my HMR and it's impressive for the price ! Hawke scopes are better than niklo sterling in my opinion ! The sport HD will be fine in your CZ !
  2. I have a howa 1500 ! Full package new £900 ! Had it over 12 months and to be honest I can't fault it ! I also have T bolt in rimfire and that is made by browning like the A bolt ! The browning will have the edge for sure on build quality ! Have you looked at the x bolt ! I have used one if those and they are brilliant, the tolerances and feel of the bolt and trigger are amazing ! I would try and buy new if u can, then you know the full history of it's use ! However there are some well looked after second hand ! Don't forget to buy a half decent scope !
  3. I have a photon with a nite tek illuminator fitted to my .22 RF for rabbit shooting ! It's a good piece of kit and I'm impressed with it for ranges upto 100yds realistically ! I also use it in the day too ! It's black and white, u can clearly make out your quarry , but it's obviously not as clear as a day scope ! I have a .17 HMR with a day scope which i try and use in the day if possible ! Have used the photon on my .223 but it's limited past 100 yds really because of clarity and low magnification ! Rimfire brilliant , centre fire ok to 100 Yds ! I would highly recommend an additional IR illuminator too as the built in ones are a bit **** if I'm being honest ! Also photon is a doddle to zero and setup, battery life seems impressive too ! Hope this helps !
  4. If your target shooting at big distance then a long barrel length makes an improved difference I would expect. But for most shooters hunting game and vermin, in my opinion, you can't tell the difference ! I was out last night shooting bunnies with 16.5 " barrel HMR, shooting out to 150 yds on the bipod , absolutely fantastic performance ! How much further do shooters hunting push their rifles and distance ? Just curious really ?
  5. Synthetic stock looks nice ! Have you looked at the browning T bolt ! They are a little different with a straight pull action ! I have one and it's fantastic ! It's a varmint barrel with walnut stock ! But if it's a synthetic stock your after, the synthetic T bolt felt a bit plasticky and light for me ! Happy shopping !
  6. I brought a pair of rydale wellies last year from a show ! One of the wellies ripped away at the seam and leaked after a short period of normal use ! Rang up and they sent a new pair so customer service was good ! This pair have been fine and they fit well and are comfy ! I only use them for the horse and walking the dog now , I brought a pair of muck boot wellies for shooting ! In my opinion they are good for general use, but hardcore use out in the rough stuff, they lack a bit of quality ! I paid £65 for a new pair of muck boot wellies , if u can just spend that bit more it would be well worth it !
  7. I have a browning T bolt with a 16.5 " barrel ! It has a hogan moderator fitted which in total the length is around 20" ! In my opinion , the shorter total length out weighs the longer barrel for ease of use in a vehicle and looks ! I use my HMR out to 150 Yds realisticly and I never struggle with accuracy, and if I do it's down to me ! Generally the shorter barrel's are more popular these days, and in fairness , manufactures wouldn't make them if they didn't work ! I have a .22 LR cz with a 22" barrel, and that works well too ! Personal preference springs to mind !
