I Have a HW45 pistol, and found it to be remarkable. My son was plinking some tins at 25 meters, and just for a larf I thought I would flick a .22 at them at the same range. ****** me I hit them every time, I couldn't believe that. Mind you I held a full bore pistol FAC in the '80s, so that helped a bit lol Phil-r8
  2. I use the RWS superdome, and they seem quite good, though I must say I have issues/questions How often do you folk clean the bore of your rifle.? I have noticed a drop of on the accuracy through my Walther R-8 after the first 6 mags. I presume its down to my cleaning method of using silicone spray on the cleaning felt. I use silicone lube as it is less likely to diesel. Any thought are appreciated Phil - R8
  3. Hi All I got a HW100 moderator from my local gunsmith for my Walther R8, works very well indeed, £50 smackeroonies
  4. Thanks Hyflier (one whiskey drinker to another ) :-) I was truly gob-smacked with the grouping rapid fire! Hi Secretagentmole, my R8 seems a bit clunky on the bolt, but i just put that down to being new. Though to be fair, I have fired a 0.22 long rim fire, and that felt clunky too. BTW, the grouping in the above piccie was RWS superdome 14.5gr. My other guns HW90 gas piston HW45 pistol And in the 1980's FAC colt 45 1911 ACP lol
  5. Hi Guy's A newbe to this site, though not to air rifles :-) I have had the R8 for a few weeks, and I'm really happy with it in general. There are some points though. Accuracy does drop off after 80 shots or so, that is restored with a bore cleaning kit. Accuracy is terrible if you use a barrel mounted bi-pod. But other than above the accuracy is superb, the attached photo is rapid fire 8 shots at 25m, which was better than the careful aiming shots i done just before! Phil
