It was a place called 29 Palms, Northern California desert. Not a place i'd recommend for a holiday! Got to say I love the South, Virginia, Carolina, Georgia. People are generally very friendly and lots of wide open spaces, perfect.
Got to agree that the cities aren't for me but the backcountry is an amazing place. One of the guys I met out there has invited me to visit him in the hill country in Texas which I guess shows my ignorance because I thought it was all Stetsons and oil, turns out he has 15,000 acres of hills, valleys and lakes. Bit like Wales really...
What has the world come to when you could make such a suggestion about the bastion of integrity that is the British political establishment! Anyway there was a distinct lack of illegal substances in this place which I believe rules parliament out?
Having just spent 6 weeks working in the U.S. I was unfortunate enough to have to spend 2 nights in Las Vegas before flying back to the UK (sarcasm doesn't work well when typed).... I don't think I've ever come across anywhere that sums up American culture quite as effectively. Wandering down the strip at middayish I was invited into an establishment which allowed me to eat a burger, watch a stripper and fire a .50 Barret, possibly all at the same time although I was concerned about a gherkin migrating into the breech. Now where do I go in the UK for a similar club?
Hello chaps, seeking the combined wisdom of the PW masses. So I picked up my first shotgun this afternoon, S/H but in remarkably good condition very happy with it for what I paid; though no doubt some would be underwhelmed. Thing is someone (previous owner I guess) has put a rather large browning sticker on the butt stock which is blummin horrible, is there a way to get it off without damaging the wood? I was thinking hairdryer and soft scraper?
Cheers for any thoughts
Cheers whitebridges, took a while but worth the wait think the credit cards about to take a battering! Foosa, Diablos it is although the burgers in the peppercorn are a personal favourite, miss the Carreg though , chunk of meat and a hot rock to cook it on was perfect
Sorry a bit new to this but with mentoring conditions if a member of the public with an FAC 'mentors' somebody and signs a letter stating that an applicant is safe And then 6 months down the line an incident occurs where does the responsibility lie? The police for granting, the FAC holder or the mentor? Would have thought the only one that could mentor is the licensing authority or an affiliate otherwise it's unenforceable or am I missing something?
Hi,
Have been looking at the forum for a while and now my coterminous has just landed on the doorstep thought I'd introduce myself. Live in Pembrokeshire but work away in the weeks hoping to continue absorbing the huge amounts of information this place holds although I probably won't be able to contribute much from my limited knowledge 😀 if anyone is local to me feel free to say hello!
