  1. At work today and got a phone call from the Mrs to say she had popped out and parked in car park and when she got back some scrote had nicked both number plates. She has informed the police but should she let the dvla know.

Shame they didn't take the car would of done us a favour then. Probably have the police smashing my back door in now in a week or so because a car with the same plates has been used in an armed robbery!

Could of worded that a little better

  2. We don't grease him or anything else. He's treat really well to be fair. Paid for his driving licence, get's lunch paid for, work clothes the lot. All we ask is that anyone who works for us works as hard and commited as we do. When work is a bit quieter we can have a laugh and 'rip' each other a little. Generally when being a bit daft with vac hoses etc. It works both ways though with us, we all work hard, enjoy what we do and have a laugh. I know for a fact he enjoys his job and working with us. As much as we appreciate his hard work and commitment to us.

Exactly the same with me, if you can't have a laugh at work it's not worth going. There's a big difference between pulling someone's leg and bullying someone. With me it works both ways.

And for mungler, I use a Henry. They take loads of abuse and keep sucking, just wish my missus was like it.

  3. Had a word with the builder on the job seemed very honest, said it wasn't great but he does get about 30% of his work from it. Said it's a pain in the bum at times but doesn't want to give it up as he says it works when he's quite. The only problem is he's already the builder and the guy I'm working with has said I can't go in as a multi trade as I'm doing the group out of seats. I've said I'm interested in having a look as a kitchen and bathroom supplier/ fitter as I'll be able pick up other work from that. If they're not happy with that then I guess it's not for me and if it's a waste of time I'll not be investing.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If it's rubbish atleast I'll get a couple of free breakfasts from the experience.

  4. So when you say you have to put a lot of work into it what do you mean?. They told me they meet once a week or it could of been a month, have a breakfast and promote each other?. Is this how it works?.

    PM me if you like.

  5. Funny thing is the job I'm on the guy who im working for is a graphic designer and web designer he's part of it and he's had a builder there opening up a chimney who's also in it and reckons he gets a load of work from it. The only thing is they only allow one member to be from anyone back ground so I couldn't join as a general builder and they want me to join as a joiner which is my trade up I'm fed up with it.

Surely you can do lots of Social Networking for FREE ?

Things like Linked In, Facebook groups, Your own web site/page, Google ads etc etc etc

Round Table (age restricted) Rotary group(s)

The three I've met so far are all in there forties, a builder, a graphic designer and an insurance loss adjuster

It sounds to good to be true!

  6. Today I've been invited to join a "network group" consisting of about 20 people of all professions all meeting up once a week to try and promote each other's business and generate more business. There's a subscription fee a annual fee and a monthly fee. What I was wondering is if anyone else does a similar thing and does it work?. It sounds great but all good salesmen make their product sound good, do you think it's legit or a con?

  7. Anyone got one?. The dragon came home from work with a 14 week puppy yesterday, allegedly she was given her KC papers the lot. I know nothing about the breed so if anyone can tell me what they're like I'd be grateful.

On the plus side I can get another cocker when the opportunity arises.

  8. How he explained it to me it wasnt as black and white as that, and it made sense to me the way he explained it. I'm not saying he's right and I'm not saying you're wrong but if you can give me some evidence supporting it's in the genes I'll take that on board. I'm sorry I took your post the wrong way.

  9. So let me get this right, a child takes on the characteristics of the environment and the people they were raised with .

So my Son was born when i was in the Army as a Soldier,so that's a Military environment,a large percentage of my in laws and my family are sport mad, including representing Wales at athletics and Rugby,I left the Army when he was about 6,I then became a bailiff and later a sheriffs officer, shooting is a hobby.

So given the above do you think there is a possibility that my Son is gay?

No but I think there's a possibility you're out for an argument.sorry to disappoint you but that's not for me.

  10. £17.08 on the job im doing the now, which is skinning kits, and £15 a linear metre for cills and lintils.Never had anything like that before but hope it carries on.

I was working up in Alexandria just before Xmas and the brickies were getting very good rates, you've got some strange ways of doing things up there but met some friendly people and enjoyed learning some different techniques.

  11. Ouch , keep your tile cutters in the garage in future !

Haven't got any outside storage so ALL my tools are in the loft, as soon as I get time I'm building a large secure shed as its a massive hassle especially as I'm constantly doing different trades.
