Thank you, every day’s a school day.

Drum Roll,

Thank you. Being a bit of a dinosaur I wasn’t aware of a remote chime but I like the idea.
The tip about positioning and the sun is interesting.
Cheers.

Good point, thanks.

Thanks, the gate is about 30, yards from the house. Just can’t see it, I have a bell wired on to the handle at the moment but wouldn’t hear it inside the house.

With the dark nights here, I was thinking about getting one for a gate that I can’t see from the house.
Any advice welcomed.
Thank you.

I’ve been thinking of buying what will probably be my last gun due to my age.
I find it all a bit of a minefield what with different types of steel and nothing tighter than half choke.
What about the tighter choked game guns and the fashionable high pheasant guns, which aren’t cheap.
Having said that maybe if you own expensive guns and shoot game on a regular basis, the lead alternatives
wouldn’t bother you too much.
I have been looking at a Browning 325, to do a little bit of everything with. I am guessing there is a suitable type of steel cartridge that would be safe to use through open chokes.

And let me guess. Like many of us, you didn’t use any ear defenders when shooting in your younger days.
I attend hospital every month for eye injections for a macula edema plus more appointments for the wife and still find time to go shooting at least once a week, but admit, like many on here, to being in my 70s.
Good luck with the hearing aids Dave. They’ve certainly changed my life. I can now engage in conversations in crowded places whereas previously I felt totally isolated not being able to pick up individual speech.
OB
I AM GUILTY OF NOT USING EAR DEFENDERS.

Please do start showing us your wares.
Even with RFD to RFD your prices were realistic.

I’ve seen the jaws welded in the open/set position on a porch wall. With the door bell mounted on the plate.
Makes you think twice before pushing the bell.

I would still miss.

Just started my old boy (14) on the above.
I was told sometime back he had a heart murmur but it didn’t seem to bother him.
More recently he developed a cough which was at it’s worst in a morning. The medication has just about stopped the coughing altogether.
The best price I have found is £38, for 28, 5mg tablets plus £16, for a vets prescription. If I had purchased from the vet an eye-watering £133.
Has anyone had any experience with this particular medication and have they found a better price. Thanks,
Phil.

Thank you gents.
I am pleased that I asked the question, I haven’t been to the shop in question for quite sometime, they often had guns on the shelves for sale on behalf of a customers. Possibly a customer has set an unrealistic price.
I’ll give it a wide birth but look at the AYA No 2, some years ago I had a XXV, which I liked.
