That shouldn't be a worry for a first season as they can be much older before they start, especially in larger dogs.

Not directly related but we just mated two bitches who were both a couple of months past their season due dates, as was a third bitch we have. Speaking to a few other people it seems to be a common occurrence this year. Don't know if it is just coincidence or if something has upset them.

I have a soft spot for most gundogs but these seem to be taking over my house.

You could give Philip a try at Fallowfen Gundogs near Newark. I'd always recommend him from personal experience.

Ours always seem to end up with traits to match their names. My dog is Splash and she used to get in the garden pond as a pup and will jump into water at any given opportunity. We had a boy and called him Sonic and when he grew up he had a ear splitting "Toller scream". Our 2 year old is called Bandit and she pinches everyone else's toys and chews. I'd call it something like "Lotto" although our latest addition is called Scout.

Actually this may be as good a place as any to ask (as everyone is from Bedford), I am new to the area, can anyone tell me where I can get a dive bottle filled locally? In fact I have another that needs a test if there is anywhere local. I did find a dive centre online but when I called the number is some ladies home and the other numbers for them don't work either???
