  1. Hi gents, going roost shooting this week and just wondering if people use their decoying hides when roost shooting? Seems to make perfect sense to me to use a hide to give you the edge as they're flying in. Look forward to your comments/expiereneces. Cheers, Jim
  2. Hi mate, how old is it? Was this purchased in UK and still under warranty? I live 20 mins away from Basingstoke so would prefer the pick up? Are you open to offers? Cheers, Jim
  3. Hi all, if you were going to get a dozen crow decoys what would you get? 1. Full bodied? 2. Shell I'm thinking full bodied as you can use them in their own pattern part of a pigeon pattern or used as sentries. Opinions are greatly appreciated. Jim
  4. I think the view that .22LR should never be fired into trees is flawed. It all depends on the wood, the angles, the location etc. My view is we're Section 1 FAC holders and should take that repsonsiblity very seriously, if we don't we can kill someone, damage property and give shooting a bad name, let alone put their certificate at risk. It's up to the holder to make sure they follow the safety protocols at all times an never think a unsafe shot is the right thing to do. Jim
  5. Does anyone had much experience of these AA magnets? Price is very good but quality and reliability are more important that price for me. Cheers, Jim
  6. Hi gents, in the market for a magnet. Been looking at the heavy duty one from A1 Decoys. Other than that options do you have any other recommendations for me to look at before I buy? Cheers, Jim
  7. Whilst that sounds disgusting, I think the worst smell on this planet is a Dead-Fish pit on a trout farm! When I was younger working on a trout farm I had the great job of filling it and digging new ones right next to a live one!!
  8. I have to say it's going in the bin. I've tried every technique and it just sounds like a a noise from a kids birthday party. Would be nice to have a warning on it that says - warning only buy this if you want your friends and family mocking you for sounding like a kazoo....
  9. Thanks all, just struggling to get that 'raspy' sound. The wife has banned me practising in the house so I think I have to drive the dog mad on her evening walks... I have a Primos squirrel call which is good so I know thu make good callers but really struggling with this one. Jim
  10. Had a good afternoon on the crows yesterday so invested in a Primos Power Crow caller. It sounds absolutely awful! I'm sure there's a technique so would appreciate any as at the moment it is more likely to call in foxes than crows! Thanks in advance, Jim
  11. Thanks, so how long would this run a standard magnet? Cheers, Jim
  12. Although this is quite tempting.... https://www.firstlightoptics.com/batteries-powerpacks/tracer-12v-10ah-lithium-polymer-battery-pack.html Jim
  13. Looks like I'll have to agree with this statement! £150 plus is just too much money just to make my life a little easier! Thanks for the comments. Jim
  14. The point I'm trying to make is I need a lighter option that a standard battery i.e. Lithium battery as an option but need it to perform for at least 6 hours. Cheers, Jim
  15. Hi gents, I borrowed a friends magnet this weekend and the battery weighed a ton! I have a bit of a walk to where I shoot and found everything in the bag was just too heavy. Have people found any decent lithium batteries that will power a magnet for 6+ hours? Thanks in advance, Jim
  16. Thanks again for the advice gents, I'll start looking into the suggested models. Cheers, Jim

  19. Hi gents, I've recently got into decoying and have been using my clay gun - a 30" Beretta 690 III Sporter. I cringe every time I get mud and rain on the perfectly oiled Turkish walnut so I've decided I want a dedicated semi-auto. Some suggestions would be great, no more than £1k and new. Thanks as always, Jim
  20. Thanks all, ordered from Amazon it arrives tomorrow :o) Jim
