  1. Hi

Phone Kent wool growers in Ashford, I was in there in the week, they have a sale on and have some very good .243 rifles new and secondhand at very keen prices

I'd give them a ring before you part with your readies

There's some good rifles to be had there

  2. I've put a shim on all mine at the back made out of copper that's on weihrauch HW 60 j's 3 of em

Never had to touch em once set up, shoots bang on the button on the 222, WMR and LR got the 6.2 on the 222 and the MK 1 XT on the other 2

I'm only guessing, probably the rifle ???? as it was on them all and they are all the same make, the MK 1 xt's on the CZ LR and the air rifle didn't need any tweaking at all

Good luck with it, I've found my photons worth every penny for the cost of em, I use the pulsar 850 IR on all of them gives a decent clear picture and range

The shim material I got from fultons at Bisley

  3. Nice varied bag there WM

Out last night in a deluge, thunder, lightning the lot

Still managed to bag a couple of dog foxes in between torrential rain downpours

Never ceases to amaze me how dear old Charlie will lay up and as soon as the rain eases up their out and at em straight away, I watched one of the dog foxes grassed through the thermal last night lay up under a very thick blackthorn bush/ tree sat there a good 35 minutes like a gargoyle just watching like a window shopper checking the surrounding area soaking it all up and planning its next move.

As soon as the rain rain eased up, it was out and looking for something to eat, couple of tiny mouse squeaks come straight into my safe shoot area

Really wet and dreary night, but worth the trouble, started at dusk left about 04:00 hrs first one come at 00:30 and the second 02:45, I never stop learning after all the years I've been doing this, really enjoyable night. - I think. He says after the second dry off, clean and re oil of the .222 only got the stock to oil now back to normal

  4. I've had the sonic to bits twice, given it a decent clear out and sprayed it out with silence save spray

If I'm honest it looks brand new inside and out, real decent bit of kit, compared to some of the others available at the same price

Only down side is re assembly, I've found nice and steady with a bit of lube on the threads really help and I just tighten it up as I go along the tube with rubber gloves on and give it a tighten up with the spanner then a wipe over. Perfect and really quiet

For quietness the best mod I've had for the Duce, SO FAR. 👀

  5. Pulsar do a front fitting nv, but for what it is, pretty hefty price mark up

Nv 750 from pulsar is a cracking piece of kit around the same price and much much better day and night, I've got the n870 which is perfect but to be honest the 750 a is just as good but without the gimmicks, m

  6. Hi Hendrx

I use a WMR constantly for rabbits and foxes out to a hundred, anything past that it drops off pretty rapid, I really like the accuracy at that range 5 shots will or should be grouping sub an inch at 100 yds, my weihrauch 60j does just that all day long

I've got QD mounts on mine and regularly from day sight to NV. ( photon 6.2 X 50)

Ammunition wise, all hornady 30 Grn BT for foxs out a hundred and 25 Grn NTX ( non toxic for the zoo) for rabbits out to the same distance

The two rounds zero exactly the same funny enough at a 100 yds, I mainly shoot off of sticks or a rest in my truck and I find the WMR perfect for the short range of a 100 yds going out at over 2k. psi for a rimmy that's pretty quick

I had a 17 hmr, fine for rangy rabbits but a 17 grns for a fox is not enough at the other end for a clean kill, and that's what really matters the WMR providing you stick with a 100 as your limit it won't let you down its a cracking calibre

I did try it for a Canada goose cull but for some reason found it a bit shy of absolutely dropping them on the spot so I changed to my .222 NTX SP for that

    Good luck

  7. I'll start it off then.

Just got in from a very successful night in the office, 7 seen 5 accounted for 3 dog foxes and 2 barren vixens

Didn't see a cub all night

That will hopefully reduce the number of chicken being taken, it's on a free range chicken farm the guys been losing at least 20 birds (£300.00 ) a day, been taking the birds between 12 and 6 in the day every day

Started 10 pm finished at 4 am busiest time from 12 to 01:00 hrs 3 removed in an hour, first one arrived as soon as I got ready and the final one 3:30 after a deluge

My old .222 is a cracking foxing rifle, furthest one according to the range finder on the n870 - 215 yds most were between 70 and a 120 yds, it performed faultlessly, cream crackered, heading for me pillow 💤💤💤💤💤

  8. I'll keep an eye out for them my stalking mate got six of em and they've have been fantastic, quality of the pics are outstanding, I've been using Spypoint, at the Aldi price it's buy one get one free compared to a Spypoint cost for one

    Hats off to Aldi

  9. Keep reading the manual, Deer ID can be a stumbling block be careful on size, colour, deer structure, ie head, rear end, distance, visit the web for different pics of uk deer. Practice makes perfect and no cost

Practice using two sticks, the more you do the more the stress bit goes out of it, it's the same as the FC test it's a doddle if you practice

Keep focused, Read the manual constantly, practice shooting off sticks do that and you'll stroll it

BDS do a good cd with quizzes on it and all the info needed for little cost and your tutor will generate your answer format for you on the course

Stick with the manual and learn it, pick up extra bits on the web, make sure you take on board current knowledge not historic info as things change, shoot straight and your there.

Good luck there ain't no cheap shortcut

  10. Have a look on the British deer society shop website

These are a cracking piece of kit

    Casstrom # 10. £79.95

    Micarta handle 14c28n stainless blade

    Lovely bit of kit

Scary sharp and it doesn't break the bank

I've used mine on Munties, Roe and fallow, does the job and holds a very keen edge

    Good luck

  12. Just got in from a foxing night 3 adult foxes with the .222 didn't see a cub in 700 acres, given a third of it is either arable or long hay grass amazed we found those three

Little bit of rain tipped down around 11 pm for just an hour, just enough time for a cuppa and a bisqwuit then back on it

Really good night out see 5 in total mainly on working some cut silage for mice and voles in three seperate fields, now the lambs have grown up a bit very little sightings there for foxes ( make the shepherd happy )

  13. I've always fished hampton pier top of tide and down with a pike Bung on a running trace and stop so it can run over the rock ridge both sides can be a hot spot for bass on rag and lug mix

Half a mile up from reculver towers there's a small channel 40 yard off the beach that's always worth a look and the bottom of the cliffs towards Herne bay are good for Rays close in

    Good luck

  14. Hi Guys

I use a 22 WMR quite a lot, picked up 500 hornady 25 gr BT rounds in copper or non tox today

Really pleasant surprised on zero testing, my Weihrauch shoots half inch groups at a hundred yards with 30 Grn Hornady lead BT

These little rounds same tight grouping 12mm high at a 100, really impressed with the round, so far, haven't tried them out in the field yet.

Anyone else using these ? Or had any use with them in the field

    Cheers
