  1. Guys What is like on aluminium 1.2mm through to 3mm Is it or would it be a bit toooooo fierce ?????
  2. A really good foxing round I use Hornady 35 grn V Max which are brilliantly accurate, so much so I don't bother to reload they will shoot sub half inch in my rifle Shooting wise - given as there is virtually no recoil. Shooting out to 220 yds is easy enough all day long Check out the balladtics and choose a round that suits your rifle With the Hornady zero @ 100 yds it's good for anything out to from 70 to 170 yds. Rabbits at 200 yds - half way up the ears does the job Good luck with new gun, you'll enjoy the duce, lovely calibre If you want to try one - give me a shout I'm only 20 mins away you could come down for a night out foxing Patrol
  3. Hi Sent you a pm With a contact number for a afternoon on the Kent sussex border Really good value and a great day out Patrol
  4. CCI. segmented are pretty good Eley are the most accurate, but a bit on the sticky side 1100 ps. Good for the longer shots a do the job
  5. Just put one on my .308. It's brilliant. Worth every penny
  6. Put a 2' cross of ferret food by the fence for two nights then do the same on the third night but also put a live multi catch rat trap in the middle of it , you should have a sack full by the morning 😀 Patrol
  7. Now that's sorted. What about glueboards.
  8. Hi Bumpy First day out tomorrow on some open field earths, got two new Jill's to bring on, should be a good day, haven't touched these earths this year with the 22. Should be one or two about.
  9. Hi 30-6 I have now given snares the boot as they are not good for singling out targeted species, The way I used them then was to arrive early on the piece of ground install some wires with stops in areas I couldn't see with NV and settle in for the rabbit shoot and check them every hour, they do help on the reduction and definitely it's not cruel as anything caught is not in the snare very long and not harmed just held that's the best you can get as far as it goes, clear them all up after you've finished shooting and everything is back to normal. These days leaving snares out overnight is not the best idea, they will hold almost anything and the old age problem with non target species pops up Best way is to sit up and nail the rabbits with a rifle and or of course the best ( my favourite way ) ferreting if you can get to the earths Good luck Patrol
  10. Hi Craig I've got two 222's. and there are both tack drivers, I use mine for long range rabbits, Canada geese reduction, foxes and munties Can't find a better rifle, cheap to feed, reloading is a doddle and inherently accurate I've got a permanent NV on the Weihrauch. ( photon 6.5) its faultless and a S & B zenith on the blaser with aN870 on a QD I can tell you they've both accounted for a few foxes 50 gr v max. For all but canadas then 50 grn NTX without shifting poa Really superb all round calibre Long live the Duce Patrol
  11. Out on wabbits last night with the 222 laid up along side a long hedge grassed a few long ones, walked over to my buddy opposite side of the hedge, spotting with the thermal for him, looked back on my bit cheeky fox walked out 150 yds from where I was laid up, picked up the nearest rabbit and scarpered back into the wood Sat up three hours after not a fox seen, missed my chance. 12. I found the the TI a bit off putting on clarity at first compared to NV But once you get used to the complete difference of TI and NV it will open up your world. TI is the best by far for spotting 100% the decent NV IMO is brilliant I use the pulsar N870 and the pair together TI as a spotter and the NV with range finder as well on the rifle are a deadly combination My set up is brilliant it will be a while before I will be looking to upgrade Patrol
  13. Just out now on a lovely dry and a very little breeze of a night, just grassed two bootiful adult foxes with the 222, I'm in awe what this little rifle of mine is capable of, both of these over 200 yds according to the RF 210 and 220 odd yds out with the pulsar N870 and X850 IR on top Happy bunny comes to mind. Patrol
  14. Grandalf You made me larf. I tried the 22-250 quite a few years ago, didn't have mods then, I'm still looking around for the phone even now. Lol Joking apart it's a serious long range foxing rifle, I don't think it's got any limits Patrol
  15. Just took delivery of a new 222, run it up with 50 rounds over two days clean and shoot clean and shoot, factory Ammo and its shooting a ragged hole, grassed three foxes with it so now it's good to go, out tonight to start, seen five foxes only one with a shot on, grassed that, so now it's bunny bashing for the rest of the evening Patrol
