Hi tomto Where near Haslemere are you. Haslemere is my home town but I’m working in France at the moment.

I’d like to know where you get £100 per day with dogs, just out of interest. I wouldn’t go there though because it would be full of money orientated people and probably not an enjoyable day. To me beating / picking up is a past time, if you need the money you can go to more than one shoot and beat three or four times a week. I know several pickers up that do this, because they enjoy it, not for the money.

Unfortunately you will find you get some unhelpful patronising comments from people who don't read your posts properly. Don't give up but getting to know people at first hand will probably get more results than using this forum. I remember looking for opportunities to learn about game keeping when I was a lad and I found a shoot where I volunteered for around 5 years, evenings after work and weekends. I learnt a lot but in the end realised I was being taken for granted and stopped. I'm sure you'll find someone genuine to take you under their wing and you sound like someone who will be very useful and trustworthy in return. If you can get beating on other shoots and offer your services you will soon get known and trusted by those worth knowing.

Hi reder Sorry, can't help with the shooting, I'm looking for some myself. I was interested to see you come from St Malo. My wife and I are moving to Brittany in about three years when I retire, but travel over there when ever we get the chance. Where and what do you usually shoot in France? By the way, are you French or English?

I would be happy to pay for the shooting if that helps.

Previously posted in wrong place - Any one out there need some help / company shooting pigeons around Surrey / West Sussex during game shooting season?
