  13. I am looking for a wooden finished gun cabinet that will hold up to 5 rifles preferably with a lockable ammo store built in. Thanks in advance Keith
  14. From my own experience with the 17hmr. When I first started to zero my rifle I used a large sheet if ply wood in front of a safe bank. The board was set against a bramble bush and was pretty much free standing. At first I thought the bullets had missed as the board although not supported didn't move when hit. The speed if these small rounds is unbelievable , you will also find yourself firing a large number if shots at the start therefore the section of bale will breakdown quickly. Definately go with something solid behind the bale.
  15. Hi mate could you give me an idea of postage to Belfast.
  16. Hi guys Looking to buy one of the above asap
  17. i wouldnt worry too much and personally i wouldnt spend anymore money on the vet bills. I had a staff bitch exactly the same and had a phantom pregnancy everytime she came into season. Unfortunatley there was an accidental mating last year with her and a dogue de bordeaux , she took a massive infection after the breeding due to her being 6 yrs and need an emergency operation which resulted in her being spayed, end of the problem too. keith
  18. i bought the marlin 2nd hand, it is the heavy barrel version with the laminate stock. I like the gun and it shoots well. The problem i have is that it wasnt screw cut and i fitted a rifle basix trigger to get it the way i wanted it. I am happy with gun and it shoots well but for the money i spent i would have been better buying a new Anschutz with adjustable trigger etc.
  19. Terriers are a very hardy breed and if they stand a chance then i would say give it to them, but from what you are saying i think she is too far gone and there may only be one outcome. You will know yourself when you need to make the decision to put her down. good luck keith
  20. sorry to hear that i didnt check the dates of the post. Good luck with the other dog. keith
  21. there are a couple of points to keep in mind Protein, if you start to raise the amount of protein from 24% as you stated and you are not working your dog hard, you can put a lot of extra stress on the kidneys. 24% protein is in my eyes plenty for most working dogs , as it is a rottie (no disrespect) i don’t think you are working him, regular exercise maybe but not hard work. Eukanuba is a good food and i normally feed it to pups and young dogs to give them a good nutritional start in life. I have also found that some dogs don’t do well on it and experience exactly the same symptoms you are describing. Worming, i had a bitch that like all my dogs was wormed regularly, she always exhibited signs of worms dull coat, dull eyes and not able to put on weight. I wormed her with Drontal + tablets; despite worming her i felt she still had a worm problem. I believe that sometimes worms can take a hold in a dog and can be hard to shift ( maybe even build up a resistance to a certain tablet) and a change of brand can sometimes work for that dog. In this case ( and i don’t recommend it) i used a very small amount of ivermec pour on (this was about 10yrs ago) the bitch was a changed dog in a few days and started to put on weight and had an overall better condition. I your case i would also recommend getting plenty of bones from your butcher, they normally pay to have the bones collected each week and are normally only too happy to provide you with as many as you want, The bones will have a good amount of meet on them from the boning process and will add to your dogs diet. Just be careful as some dogs get very possessive over bones.
  22. i wouldnt worry, just keep an eye on her. as previously mentioned it is not uncommon for a bitch to have a phantom pregnancy with most of her seasons. Sometimes bitches like this are handy to have around as they can be helpful in raring a litter if the mum rejects them etc. Again as metnioned by greenhunter just make sure her teats dont become hard and painful to the touch. keith
