  1. Hi, I'm sure it's a bit of a long shot but does anyone know of any syndicates in the Skipton (North Yorkshire) area with any vacancies. I'd be greatful of any info. Thanks
  2. Well done John, Little ****** seems to have cut himself shaving
  3. John, a pxxsed off mink will try and bite whatever you put through the bars of the trap which makes them quite easy to kill. Go for whatever you've got with a mink mouth sized barrel. Cheers
  4. Good luck John. Oily fish is a very good bait, also cheap cat food, the cheaper the better. The stream will carry the scent of the bait downstream which will increase the 'attraction area'. If you catch a female, give the trap a few kicks to rile her before you dispatch her. She'll scent the trap for you which will bring in the males next time round. Cheers
  5. I've used a cinema range where you use live rounds. Basically there's a large screen which has a scenario projected on it (terrorists/wild game etc). When you fire, a mike on the firing point picks up the report of your round and freezes the film, the point of impact on the screen is illuminated so you can see if you've hit or missed, then the film plays on. Cheers
  6. Guess it depends on the breed of dog as the breed specific dvd's will be more focussed. If it's a Lab or Spaniel i'd recommend the Edward Martin series. They wont tell you everything but i like his style and you can get an idea of a training plan by following through the series. There are specific sets for Lab, Spaniels and Cockers. Thanks, sorry I didn't mention the breed - he's a springer.
  7. Can anyone reccomend a good DVD for gundog training, there's a few about and I'd like to make sure I get a decent one. Thanks in advance

    crayfish

Roadkill, you do need a license mate. You can get one from the EA. It's more of a technicality than anything else. The fact is that signal crayfish are effectively the grey squirrels of the river, brought over here from the US and they've decimated the indigenous crayfish as they are much bigger and more aggressive. The licence is a way of getting accross the information that you should not allow any you catch to make it into another watercourse. Good luck
  9. Don't get someone in to fit it, it sounds like you've hit some metalwork. Use a HSS (not the hire place) bit to try and get past the metal (take the drill off hammer for this) if you get past the obstruction, go back to a masonry bit and stick the drill back on hammer. Cheers
  10. I've only ever repaired fibre glass boats but this stuff should do the trick. Link
  11. Great shooting mate. How's those dogs of yours getting on??
  12. I had it once, cooked in a stew. God it was awful. Definately not worth the bother.
  13. Great story, do you mean a 'priest' so called as you use it to administer the last rites??

  16. I originally posted this in the gun dog section, but didn't get any luck, if anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it.
  17. Hi, Im after a favour if anyone can help me out. I'm waiting for my SGC to come through and in the interim, I'm working on training my dog - Dusty, a 22 month old Springer. He's great at flushing birds but not so sure about the retrieve. He's always been great with dummies, but, the couple of times I've had access to birds he's been a bit hesitant. So I'm on the scrounge for a couple of pigeons. Obviously, not having a gun makes it all a bit chicken and the egg, I can't get any birds to train him with, so he doesn't get ant better. So, if you're near to Skipton, North Yorkshire, and you can help me out, I'd be very grateful. Thanks Jonty Rhodes
