Finally bagged a juvenile male this morning, the 21st from my garden this year. The most aggressive one Ive seen in the 2 yeras ive lived here...the pic shows the damage done by it to feeders over the last 2 mornings alone. Never mind, 21 grains of attitude adjustment sorted it out. A bonus sighting was an adult Sparrowhawk popping into the garden last week and then a juvenile one this morning. Gorgeous birds, but going from the manic alarm calls, the local bird population did not share my joy in seeing them!

Seen the first activity for a while this morning, 2 juvenile males and a big lactating sow taken one after the other in the live trap.

Its been a busy couple of days and the 'drought' of greys is definitely over! 3 on the 12th and 4 today, active from 5am until 8pm, I took 5 mature males and 2 mature, lactating females, all live trapped. Only the last of the females was a bit of a runt and crawling with fleas, the others were all prime specimens. Ive another 2 days off work, so I will see what they bring

1 young female taken this morning in the live trap, an absolute bruiser too and in prime condition. 1st live one i've bagged for a while, the Fenn trap has been doing the heavy-lifting of late. Im still not seeing anything like the same amount of activity I was, this time last year.

Some activity starting around mine, but still quieter now than back in January. There is likely grey activity that Im not seeing as I am back on Mon- Fri dayshifts, so not able to monitor the garden as much. Ive only bagged 2 of late, both taken in my Mk4 Fenn cage trap on April 28th and 11th of this month, rounding the total for my garden at 20 now. I did almost run one over on friday morning on my way to work...at 05:20am, Ive never seen one active that early before!
