Hry there all

was out on the pigeons there a while ago and mistakenly put wire to the wrong terminals on the battery and blew the fuse in the speed controller. Just got around to replacing the fuse and every time i connect to the battery, it blows. Magnet works without it but is too fast. Fuse is 5amp, (small glass type). connected to a 13amp for a couple of seconds to see if controller was working and it worked. I opened the controller to see if any wires were touching but none were. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

thanks all

This question has been raised before and the popular answer is that this can happen if you connect up the rotary and controller with the speed turned up.

Always do it with the speed turned down or preferably off, that way you don't get a surge to begin with.

Its also a fair comment that some speed controllers can be temperamental, it depends where you get them from.
